About the General Ledger Officer Role: The General Ledger Officeris responsible for all aspects full-cycle month-end closing and acts as the back-up for accounts payable and payroll processing. Duties may include but not limited to preparing and posting journal entries, cash disbursements, cash receipts, bank reconciliations, preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations and monthly schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
Enter financial data and transactions into the ledger
Process improvement and migration
Prepare journal entries, cash disbursement, cash receipts, month-end & year-end closing, account analysis, and bank reconciliations
Prepare and reconcile system uploads into general ledger
Be responsible for any tasks necessary to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Analyse financial statements and prepare budget variance analysis using sound judgement and critical thinking
Manage government reporting
Participate in the institutional budgeting process
Update documentation of business processes and procedures
Assist in maintaining storage and organisation of records
Back up accounts payable processing
To succeed in this General Ledger Officer role, must possess a strong can-do approach and the ability to work autonomously.
Key Requirements:
Expertise in Oracle Netsuite is a must
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills are essential
Highly organised and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently
Capable of prioritising and handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Adobe
Must have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
Three to five years of related work experience is required
Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Expert Pay, Power BI, and SSRS reporting is preferred
Self-starter, willingness to take ownership of deliverables
Success-oriented and comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
