Our client, a leading global manufacturer of electronic components, is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will have the chance to evaluate and interpret complex financial statements, identify cost drivers, and propose solutions to reduce manufacturing costs.
What you’ll do:
As a Senior Cost Accountant, your role will be pivotal in analysing financial data and identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
- Evaluate and interpret complex financial statements to determine manufacturing costs
- Identify areas driving up production cost and propose ways to reduce these costs
- Model cost impact of manufacturing changes such as design, materials, labour or manufacturing methods
- Identify trends where the manufacturing process is not tracking vs plan from a cost perspective and propose potential solutions
- Create and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual reports ensuring information accuracy
- Ensure processes and reports are in compliance with corporate policies
- Drive awareness around profitability at all levels of the business unit
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Cost Accountant position brings a wealth of experience in finance and accounting within the manufacturing sector. You possess an advanced understanding of manufacturing cost analysis and your strong analytical skills coupled with your high attention to detail make you adept at interpreting complex financial data. A CPA qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Bachelor's or university degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field; MBA preferred
- Five to seven years of related work experience
- Deep knowledge of manufacturing and manufacturing cost analysis
- Experience with Global Manufacturing Companies Preferred
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office
- Strong analytical skills
- High attention to detail
- CPA preferred
