Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join their team in Paranaque City. This role offers the opportunity to oversee all finance, banking, and taxation matters. You will be reporting directly to the Regional CFO and General Manager, providing an accurate overview of the financial situation of various entities. What you’ll do:
As a Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing the overall accounting function of various entities.
- Manage the overall accounting function of the various entity of the company (shipping, domestic carrier, carriers’ representation, and sub agent)
- Supervise the monthly accounting close
- Preparation of financial statement in accordance with local GAAP, International accounting and IFRS
- Monitor and achieve performance measurement and core KPIs
- Perform variance analysis and analytical review on financial statements
- Lead annual budgetary preparation and reporting
- Coordinate with local finance team, GBS team and cross departments to resolve ongoing financial issues
- Support Tax/GL team and work closely with regional office on ongoing tax topics
- Lead in groupwide SAP direct posting project for agency and carriers’ representation
- Build a high performing Finance and Admin team by providing effective mentoring, on-the-job training and coaching
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Financial Controller position brings a wealth of experience in finance, accounting, and tax along with proper qualifications. You are a strong leader with sound judgment, attention to detail is impeccable, and your analytical skills aid in effective decision making.
- Degree or above in Finance/Accounting/Tax, with an MBA or CPA qualification
- Minimum 10 years working experience in managerial role
- Experience in audit and consultancy is a plus
- High level of written and oral communication skills. Fluent in English.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel and Power Point presentation. Experience in Oracle and SAP accounting software is a plus.
- Strong business acumen, able to work independently
- Strong leadership abilities, sound judgment, decision making and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to details and analytical skills for decision making.
- Team player and willing to coach.
- Proactive, fast learner. Results driven and deadline oriented.
