Accounting & Tax Manager - Central Visayas

Our client is in search of a knowledgeable Accounting & Tax Manager to join their team in Cebu City. This role presents an exciting opportunity to be a key stakeholder in setting up their first Teaching Center in the Philippines. You will be responsible for a variety of day-to-day tasks, including accounts payable, general ledger entries, intercompany invoicing, and processing of payments. You will work closely with the Center Director and various stakeholders worldwide.

What you'll do:

As an Accounting & Tax Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading all finance and accounting activities for the center. Your responsibilities will include managing tax and compliance, producing financial statements, communicating with external advisors, preparing budgets and forecasts, leading process improvements, handling legal affairs related to contracts, agreements, and terms with third parties.

  • Lead all finance and accounting activities for the center, including monthly, quarterly and yearly closing reporting.
  • Manage tax and compliance.
  • Produce financial statements and other reports on a regular basis.
  • Communicate with external advisors.
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts and prepare business cases to support decision-making.
  • Lead process improvements and other internal projects.
  • Play the role of legal affairs regarding contracts, agreements, and terms and conditions with third parties.
  • Work closely with the business and support the Center Director in all business decisions.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Accounting & Tax Manager position is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/ Accounting/ Finance or similar. You should have at least 5 years of experience in Accounting/Finance with an international company being a plus. A good understanding of the accounting cycle and Filipino Taxation is essential.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/ Accounting/ Finance or similar.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting/Finance (international company is a plus).
  • Good understanding of the accounting cycle and Filipino Taxation.
  • Proven experience acting as Corporate Treasurer.
  • Organized with attention to detail and a high sense of internal control.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet challenging deadlines and perform under pressure.
  • Strong leadership and good communication with positive mindset.
  • Flexible and willing to accept new challenges. Comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Strong competence in MS Excel.
  • Previous knowledge in Oracle is a plus.
