Finance Director (Consultancy)

A leading energy company is seeking a Finance Consultant to join their team in Ortigas, Philippines. As Finance Director, you will be at the heart of strategic decision-making, overseeing statutory and consolidation accounting, driving budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensuring robust internal controls.

What you'll do:

As a Finance Consultancy, you will play an instrumental role in guiding the organisation’s financial strategy while ensuring operational excellence across all finance-related activities.

• Oversee all statutory and consolidation accounting activities for Philippine operations, ensuring timely production of profit and loss statements, accurate closing and reporting cycles, finalisation of accounts, and smooth audit processes.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes by collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop realistic financial plans that align with organisational objectives.
• Manage treasury functions including cash flow monitoring, banking relationships, liquidity planning, and risk mitigation strategies to safeguard company assets.
• Handle tax-related matters such as withholding taxes, VAT, customs duties in close coordination with Group support teams to ensure full compliance with local regulations.
• Monitor the financial performance of Philippine operations by identifying trends, analysing variances, and providing actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reviews including cost optimisation initiatives, gross margin analysis, key performance indicators (KPIs), and analytical reports for senior management.
• Ensure strict adherence to compliance requirements by applying Group accounting standards and embedding a robust risk management framework throughout the finance function.
• Establish an effective internal control environment focused on fraud risk prevention, formalising key processes, documenting procedures, and managing operational risks proactively.
• Review existing Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Procurement, and IT procedures regularly; recommend enhancements to ensure alignment with both Group policies and local legal requirements.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Finance Consultant position brings deep knowledge of core finance disciplines but also an ability to communicate complex information clearly across different audiences. Your keen understanding of business drivers enables you to contribute meaningfully beyond traditional finance boundaries

• Accountancy qualification such as CPA or equivalent with experience gained from MNCs or Big 4 firms
• Proven expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as well as hands-on experience managing consolidation accounting processes for large-scale organisations.

• Strong people management capabilities
• Possess sound business acumen with an ability to balance value creation against cost optimisation while maintaining a prudent approach towards risk management decisions.
