Plant Controller
You will play a key part in shaping business decisions by providing accurate, timely financial information and collaborating closely with both local and international teams. With direct exposure to senior management and the chance to influence strategic initiatives, this position is ideal for someone who thrives in a supportive, growth-oriented environment.
What you'll do:
As Plant Controller, you will be at the heart of financial operations within a busy manufacturing environment. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve partnering closely with plant management to provide actionable insights that drive operational efficiency. You will coordinate planning cycles, analyse key performance indicators, prepare detailed reports for leadership review, and ensure compliance with both internal controls and external audit requirements.
- Serve as the main finance partner to the Plant Manager, using data-driven insights to support operational performance improvements across all areas of the facility.
- Coordinate with plant leadership to develop annual operating plans and quarterly forecasts that align with organisational goals and drive sustainable growth.
- Review key manufacturing metrics such as lean KPIs, labour efficiencies, purchase price variances, and scrap rates, providing clear analysis of risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly and periodic reports that enhance management’s understanding of financial results and operational trends.
- Analyse spending patterns and trends, preparing month-end flash reports as well as site operations review presentations for senior stakeholders.
- Oversee site working capital management in collaboration with materials management teams, focusing on inventory improvement projects and reviewing inventory valuation reserves.
- Coordinate planning, validation, and tracking of cost reduction projects across the site to ensure effective resource utilisation.
- Maintain rigorous compliance with internal controls, ensuring all financial activities adhere to established standards and best practices.
- Act as the primary contact for external auditors, ensuring timely compliance with audit requirements and all relevant local government reporting obligations.
- Support the annual standard rates and cost setting process while assisting in capital expenditure requests by preparing detailed financial justifications when required.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Plant Controller position brings extensive experience in finance functions within manufacturing settings, underpinned by a solid academic background in accounting or finance. Your proven track record includes managing complex reporting cycles, implementing robust internal controls, and supporting cross-functional teams on cost optimisation projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in finance and accounting principles gained through at least seven years’ experience in similar roles within manufacturing environments.
- Comprehensive understanding of absorption cost accounting theory along with practical application in daily operations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with SAP is highly desirable while experience with Oracle HFM would be beneficial.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across global time zones while managing multiple priorities effectively through strong planning and organisational skills.
- Exceptional analytical abilities that enable you to guide management decision-making processes based on thorough data interpretation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills complemented by strong presentation capabilities for conveying complex information clearly.
- Thorough knowledge of both local Philippine GAAP and US GAAP principles as well as current financial reporting standards.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification majoring in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution is required.
