What you'll do:
As the Business Planning and Analysis Manager, you will be instrumental in guiding the affiliate’s financial direction through meticulous planning processes that span budgeting cycles to long-term strategic forecasting. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve synthesising complex data from multiple product lines into meaningful insights that empower senior leaders to make informed choices.
- Lead the annual budget process as well as long-range planning cycles by consolidating profit and loss statements across various product lines across the therapeutics business.
- Conduct detailed analysis of sales performance, gross profit margins, operating expenses, and deliver variance analyses against budgets or forecasts to inform management decisions.
- Support senior management in evaluating strategic options including direct affiliate setups, agency models, distributor negotiations, and new business opportunities.
- Act as a financial business partner by providing clear financial insights to the Country Manager and collaborating with cross-functional teams on pricing strategies, discounting policies, and profitability assessments.
- Work closely with commercial teams to analyse pricing structures and support supply chain partners in inventory management, demand forecasting, and cost optimisation initiatives.
- Assist in the evaluation of new product launches by preparing robust business cases and supporting licensing or business development activities with sound financial analysis.
- Prepare monthly management reports in both local and headquarters formats that include key performance indicators (KPIs) and insightful commentaries for internal stakeholders.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial submissions to regional or global finance teams while tracking distributor or partner financials for full transparency on commissions, rebates, and margins.
- Develop dashboards and advanced analytical tools that facilitate effective business reviews and enable data-driven decision-making at all levels of the organisation.
- Maintain rigorous governance standards by ensuring compliance with Philippine tax laws, accounting regulations, statutory audits, tax filings, external reporting requirements, and internal controls.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Business Planning and Analysis Manager brings a wealth of experience from finance positions within the pharmaceutical industry or similarly regulated environments. You possess deep familiarity with local tax legislation as well as international accounting frameworks which enables you to navigate complex regulatory landscapes confidently.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business is required; additional qualifications such as CPA, CMA or MBA are highly desirable for this position.
- Minimum of 5–8 years’ progressive experience within Finance roles—ideally gained within the pharmaceutical sector—with proven expertise in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), controlling or commercial finance functions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Philippine tax laws alongside proficiency in IFRS standards and local accounting practices is essential for success in this role.
- Demonstrated experience using SAP or other ERP systems combined with advanced Excel skills for complex financial modelling tasks is expected.
- Experience preparing management reports featuring KPIs along with insightful commentary tailored for both local leadership teams and global headquarters is highly valued.
