What you'll do:
As an Internal Controls and Risk Manager, you will be entrusted with overseeing the implementation of robust governance structures that underpin every aspect of business operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close collaboration with senior leaders to ensure that internal control frameworks are not only established but also fully integrated into organisational culture.
- Embed the company’s Internal Control Framework and Enterprise Risk Management programme throughout all operational sites and corporate departments, ensuring full alignment with group policies, international standards, and local regulatory requirements.
- Provide assurance to the Chief Financial Officer, Executive Committee, and Audit Committee regarding the effectiveness of management systems and risk controls by closely coordinating with Internal Audit teams.
- Serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership by delivering high-quality insights, transparent updates, and well-founded recommendations that balance risk considerations with business performance objectives.
- Establish comprehensive control policies and procedures across all plants and functions to ensure consistent adherence to best practices while maintaining accountability at every level of the organisation.
- Act as the primary gatekeeper of compliance by proactively addressing issues identified during audits or compliance reviews and implementing timely remediation measures.
- Lead enterprise-wide efforts in risk identification, assessment, prioritisation, and mitigation through effective use of risk registers, dashboards, scenario analyses, and regular communication with stakeholders.
- Engage with executive leadership to embed robust continuity planning and change management practices into daily operations so that the business remains resilient in the face of disruption.
- Drive ongoing process improvements aimed at strengthening security protocols, enhancing accuracy in information management, increasing consistency in financial analysis, and improving efficiency in reporting mechanisms.
- Support re-engineering projects by collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable integration of processes while optimising resources for maximum value creation.
- Serve as the main point of contact for Internal Audit teams, external auditors, regulators, and group governance bodies on all matters related to internal controls and risk management.
What you bring:
To excel as an Internal Controls and Risk Manager, you will bring extensive experience from similar roles within large-scale industrial or manufacturing settings. Your familiarity with internationally recognised frameworks such as COSO ensures you can design systems that stand up to scrutiny from both internal auditors and external regulators alike.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field is required; an MBA or Master’s degree is highly desirable
- Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA) are essential
- A minimum of 12–15 years’ progressive experience in internal controls, risk management, governance or compliance within large industrial or manufacturing businesses
- Proven track record of successful partnership with C-suite executives, Audit Committees and regulatory authorities is necessary
- In-depth knowledge of COSO frameworks as well as enterprise risk management methodologies
- Expertise in managing ERP environments such as SAP—including segregation of duties design.
- Exceptional leadership skills combined with excellent communication abilities
- Demonstrated capability in developing business continuity plans along with experience leading change management initiatives
- Strong analytical skills paired with attention to detail
- Ability to foster a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing among team members
