What you'll do:
As an Anti-Money Laundering Officer based in BGC, you will be entrusted with upholding the highest standards of regulatory compliance within the organisation’s anti-money laundering framework. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with various teams to develop effective policies that address emerging risks while ensuring seamless implementation across all business units. You will play a crucial role in investigating flagged accounts, preparing detailed reports for regulators, evaluating high-risk client profiles, managing transaction alerts generated by advanced monitoring systems, and facilitating ongoing training programmes for staff. Success in this position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills to interpret complex regulations, and an ability to communicate findings clearly with both internal stakeholders and external authorities. Act as a subject matter expert for business units by providing guidance on AML/CFT requirements, KYC standards, sanctions risk assessments, and fraud risk mitigation.

Assess enhanced due diligence (EDD) cases and high-risk customer profiles, endorse findings for escalation or approval, and monitor ongoing KYC periodic reviews (PR) and transaction event reviews (TER).

Conduct AML compliance reviews across departments to evaluate adherence to policies, identify gaps, and recommend process improvements.

Create new AML/CFT, sanctions, and fraud risk policies while regularly reviewing and updating existing frameworks through gap analyses of newly issued regulations, circulars, and supervisory guidance.

Ensure timely remediation of findings raised by internal audits, group audits, regulators, and supervisory authorities by implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Examine customer accounts subject to inquiry by the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC), conduct detailed investigations, and provide well-supported recommendations based on findings.

Implement, maintain, and continuously enhance Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF), and sanctions policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure full regulatory compliance across the branch.

Investigate suspicious transactions thoroughly and prepare and submit Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) to the AMLC when required.

Manage transaction monitoring alerts generated from systems such as SAS, including investigation, disposition, and documentation of suspicious activities and name screening hits from CNS systems.

Monitor covered transactions to ensure accurate and timely reporting in accordance with regulatory expectations.

Prepare, review, and submit regulatory reports to authorities such as the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and AMLC, as well as internal compliance stakeholders.

Review transactions flagged for enhanced due diligence through CSW alerts and maintain comprehensive logs and supporting documentation for processed, pending, or rejected cases.

Support and deliver AML/CFT training and awareness programmes to employees to promote a strong culture of compliance across the organisation.

At least 5 years of proven experience working within anti-money laundering or related fields, demonstrating practical knowledge of industry best practices.

Comprehensive knowledge of banking operations combined with a strong understanding of local regulatory requirements to navigate evolving compliance landscapes effectively.

Demonstrated capacity to act as an advisor or consultant on AML/CFT matters, guiding business units through complex compliance issues.

Exceptional analytical abilities enabling quick comprehension of intricate regulations and accurate interpretation of policy implications.

Experience in IT project management focused on AML development is highly preferred, supporting oversight of technology-driven compliance solutions.
