What you'll do:

As a Regulatory Compliance Officer, you will play an integral part in safeguarding the bank’s reputation by ensuring strict adherence to both internal policies and external regulatory requirements. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve working closely with senior compliance leaders to oversee key aspects of the compliance function. You will be instrumental in managing regulatory reporting processes, collaborating with various teams to clarify complex regulations, and keeping abreast of any legislative changes that may affect operations. Success in this role requires not only technical knowledge but also strong interpersonal skills; you will need to communicate clearly with colleagues at all levels while fostering an environment where everyone understands their role in maintaining high standards. By contributing your expertise and dedication, you will help create a workplace where ethical conduct is prioritised and regulatory risks are effectively managed.

  • Support the Chief Compliance Officer and Deputy Chief General Compliance Officer by assisting with the oversight of the bank’s compliance function, ensuring all activities align with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Assist in conducting comprehensive reviews of general compliance requirements to guarantee that the bank consistently meets industry standards and applicable legal frameworks.
  • Handle the preparation, submission, and management of regulatory reports required by various governing bodies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness at every stage.
  • Collaborate closely with different departments to provide guidance on compliance matters, helping teams understand their responsibilities under current regulations.
  • Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations, proactively updating internal policies and procedures as needed to maintain full compliance.
  • Participate in regular audits and assessments of compliance processes, identifying areas for improvement and recommending practical solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training sessions aimed at enhancing staff awareness of compliance obligations throughout the organisation.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all compliance activities, including risk assessments, incident reports, and corrective actions taken.
  • Respond promptly to queries from regulators or internal stakeholders regarding compliance issues or reporting requirements.
  • Foster a culture of integrity and transparency by promoting best practices in regulatory compliance across all levels of the organisation.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Regulatory Compliance Officer position brings not only academic credentials but also practical experience gained from working within regulated environments. Your background equips you with an understanding of how financial institutions operate under strict oversight while balancing operational needs with legal obligations. You have demonstrated success navigating complex rulesets—whether through direct involvement in reporting processes or by supporting others as they interpret new guidelines. Your interpersonal strengths shine when building consensus among colleagues or delivering training sessions designed to raise awareness about emerging risks. Above all else, your sense of responsibility drives you toward excellence: you take pride in producing work that stands up under scrutiny because it reflects both diligence and integrity.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Economics or another related field provides you with a solid foundation for understanding complex regulatory environments.
  • At least five years’ experience working within a compliance function is preferred; however, candidates with less experience who demonstrate strong potential are also encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills enable you to build positive relationships across departments while facilitating effective collaboration on compliance matters.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities allow you to explain complex regulations clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A keen eye for detail ensures that all reports submitted meet stringent accuracy standards required by regulators.
  • Proven ability to interpret evolving laws and regulations means you can adapt quickly when new requirements arise.
  • Experience preparing detailed documentation supports transparent record-keeping practices essential for audit readiness.
