What you'll do:

As a General Accounting Specialist, you will be entrusted with responsibilities that span the full spectrum of accounting functions. • Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting.

• Ensure full compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal control policies in all accounting activities.

• Monitor and reconcile fixed asset accounts, ensuring proper capitalization, depreciation, and disposal entries are accurately recorded.

• Participate in accounting system implementations and enhancements by validating data accuracy and supporting user acceptance testing (UAT).

• Perform daily bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to maintain accurate and up-to-date cash records.

• Prepare complete and accurate general accounting reports, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded within agreed timelines.

• Provide operational accounting support related to cash management and treasury activities to help sustain healthy liquidity levels.

• Reconcile subsidiary ledgers and supporting schedules against consolidated financial statements, recommending adjustments where necessary.

• Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, tax rules, and financial regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.

• Support internal and external audit engagements by preparing required documentation and responding clearly to audit inquiries.

• Take ownership of month-end closing activities, including posting journal entries, accruals, and necessary adjustments for timely period closure.

• Fluency in English, allowing effective communication in an international and professional environment, both written and verbal.

• Highly desirable experience in a bank or other financial institution, offering valuable insight into regulated and structured accounting environments.

• Preferred experience with Odoo, providing an advantage when working with integrated business and accounting systems.
