Our client is seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Analyst to join their dynamic team. What you'll do:
As an Actuarial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the company's portfolio database for all reinsurance contracts. Your excellent problem-solving skills will be put to good use as you audit, validate and cleanse data for catastrophe modelling and reinsurance pricing. You will also be responsible for communicating any data issues with underwriters, brokers or clients. Your strong analytical skills will enable you to perform experience and exposure rating using available tools. Furthermore, you will calculate technical rates and communicate the methods used to underwriters and technical reviewers. Your commitment to continuous improvement will be evident as you contribute to the maintenance and optimum use of available pricing, DFA and actuarial tools.
* Maintain and update the company's inwards portfolio database for all local and foreign reinsurance contracts
* Assist in quarterly reporting of the company's current portfolio statistics
* Audit, validate and cleanse data for catastrophe modelling and reinsurance pricing
* Communicate data issues with underwriters, brokers or clients
* Perform experience and exposure rating using available tools
* Calculate technical rates and communicate methods on how these were calculated to underwriters and technical reviewers
* Monitor actual versus technical rates
* Contribute to the maintenance and optimum use of available pricing, DFA and actuarial tools
What you bring:
As an Actuarial Analyst, you will bring a strong academic background in Mathematics, majoring in Actuarial Science. Your affiliation with the Actuarial Society of the Philippines or similar societies such as the Casualty Actuarial Society will be highly regarded. You will have gained valuable experience working within the insurance industry and have developed proficiency in programming languages including SQL, VBA and Excel macro. Experience with IFRS 17, Prophet or Axis will be considered advantageous. Your proficiency in MS Office Applications coupled with a basic working knowledge of Visual Basic / Macro programming will enable you to excel in this role.
* Graduate of BS Mathematics major in Actuarial Science
* Affiliate of the Actuarial Society of the Philippines or similar societies e.g. Casualty Actuarial Society is preferred
* Insurance working experience is essential
* Proficiency in programming languages - SQL, VBA, Excel macro is required
* Experience with IFRS 17, Prophet or Axis is advantageous
* Proficient in MS Office Applications with basic working knowledge of Visual Basic / Macro programming
