Regional Operations Head (Banking)

The Regional Operations Head role must have a retail banking experience from a universal bank. The head will supervise Retail Banking store operations within an assigned regions (Visayas and Mindanao) and area operations officers.

About the Regional Operations Head Role:
The role will supervise Retail Banking store operations within an assigned region (Visayas and Mindanao) to ensure operational efficiency, superior customer service delivery, and compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory/AMLC standards. The head will lead and mentor Area Operations Officers (AOOs) in the assigned region and identify and implement process improvements and develop automated tools to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Governance and Compliance:

  • Guide and assist in resolving incomplete CTRs and AML alerts raised by stores, AOOs, or Central Due Diligence Officers.
  • Implement compliance, governance, and risk management requirements based on the bank's policies and frameworks.
  • Support consistent adherence to onboarding processes for new accounts, addressing concerns raised by AOOs through Store Review Reports.

Inward Remittances (IR) from Fund Transfer Department (FTD):

  • Review Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) and supporting documents for IRs endorsed by AOOs for approval.
  • Approve IRs with satisfactory EDD and documentation, notifying FTD for crediting.
  • Inform AOOs/Service Managers via email about IRs not approved for crediting.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Address concerns related to policy adherence, operational efficiency, targets, and customer service. Attend meetings convened by the Division Head or Retail Banking Cluster Head.
  • Participate in hiring Area Operations Officers and Service Managers, ensuring adequate staffing across all stores.
  • Provide clear communication, instructions, and deadlines to all departments, fostering alignment with Retail Banking Group (RBG) objectives.

Customer Focus:

  • Uphold excellent customer service standards through the application of the bank's Service Pillars and Standards.
  • Monitor and coach the team to meet customer service expectations.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints promptly and escalate issues when necessary.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and thorough completion of special projects as assigned.
  • Offer business insights to other units to support business development initiatives

To succeed in this Regional Operations Head role, you must have a retail banking experience from a universal bank and willing to relocate to Visayas or Mindanao region.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business-related course.
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in branch operations within universal banks.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the banking industry, operations, and business.
  • Proficiency in governance, risk management, compliance, and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Expertise in business development, financial accounting analytics, and research.
  • Familiarity with banking laws, regulations, products, services, and tools.
