About the Credit Risk Management Head Role: The successful candidate has to understand the key drivers of credit risk, manage the portfolio risk, and maximise the risk return profile of consumer retail portfolios in a digital banking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the underwriting process by ensuring it is in accordance with the bank's credit policy and procedures
Ensure the bank's credit initiatives comply not just with the policies and procedures but also with local regulations and strategic direction by senior management
Support the consumer credit operations team in ensuring collection targets are achieved, and credit limits are continually reviewed
Monitor and track portfolio performance against the set benchmark
Leverage risk appetite results to support strategy business decision making via new initiatives and policy implementation
Ensure acquisition quality early indicator is within agreed threshold
Monitor portfolio triggers in a proactive manner, take swift actions to address breaches together with the business units
Develop portfolio heat map by products to assess portfolio shape and risk appetite
Identify portfolio issues early on, engage business to take proactive actions and close them in a timely manner
Establish monitoring and tracking mechanism to assess portfolio performance against benchmarks and leverage on risk appetite results to support strategic business decision making via new initiatives and policy implementation
To succeed in this Credit Risk Management Head role, you must have a well-rounded credit risk experience and the ability to work independently and report to senior risk committees and board members.
Key Requirements:
Track record in establishing a robust credit risk policy and management in retail banking
Experience managing a small team covering all credit risk analysis and management within another reputable bank
Extensive credit risk experience from a local universal bank
Experience managing unsecured loans/ credit management for another reputable bank
