Demand set to be high for local IT talent with experience in digital transformation

Continued disruption in IT innovations is set to produce a need for professionals skilled in mobility,  and cloud computing, finds our latest Salary Survey 2018.

The IT recruitment market in the Philippines grew in 2017 with overall increases in job vacancies, applications and average salaries compared to the year before. We saw financial services and commerce shifting to leaner, customer-focused solutions, putting pressure on traditional businesses and creating a demand for candidates with experience in digital transformation.

This was among the key findings of the Robert Walters Salary Survey for 2018. The annual survey contains recruitment market updates, hiring advice and benchmarks salaries across our global markets.

In 2018, continued disruption in IT innovations will produce a need for professionals skilled in mobility, cloud computing, platform-based solutions, and social data intensive business models. Interest in customer data will drive demand for big data engineers and data scientists. 

The decentralisation of commercial centres to hubs in Laguna, Pampanga, Cebu and Davao will also generate employment opportunities in those markets.
