As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will advise senior management on legal and corporate affairs as the company grows. Your role includes driving the development and implementation of global compliance programs and ensuring compliance with all statutory reporting requirements. You will also support transactional matters such as Mergers & Acquisitions and other commercial activities. This position offers a dynamic environment to shape the company's legal strategy and compliance efforts.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will drive the development and implementation of global compliance initiatives. Your responsibilities will include leading internal training on various regulations and policies, ensuring adherence to all statutory reporting requirements, supporting transactional matters, and creating templates for commercial contracts. Your role will be crucial in aligning the company's regulatory obligations with its policies and requirements.

  • Conduct ongoing negotiations of commercial contracts to ensure alignment with regulatory and company policy requirements.
  • Develop, review, and maintain a suite of standardized templates for commercial contracts, ensuring they meet regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Ensure meticulous compliance with all statutory reporting requirements, including those mandated by the SEC and other corporate regulatory bodies.
  • Lead and conduct internal training sessions on local commercial and statutory regulations, emphasizing the code of ethics, anti-bribery and anti-corruption measures, data privacy, procurement practices, and governance policies.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to all governance policies and regulatory obligations within the organization.
  • Provide expert corporate support for transactional matters, encompassing mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and various commercial issues.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior management, offering guidance on legal and corporate affairs to support the company’s growth and compliance objectives.
  • Spearhead the development and execution of the organization's comprehensive global compliance program and its related initiatives.

The ideal candidate for the Senior Legal Counsel position brings experience specializing in public policy, regulatory law, contract review, negotiation, and documentation. They possess a robust background in human resources and labor law, corporate law and governance, and data privacy law, with specific expertise in technology sectors. Their practice includes significant experience in intellectual property (IP), mergers and acquisitions (M&A), or labor law.

  • 10+ years of in-house legal practice, focusing on public policy, regulatory law, and comprehensive contract management, including review, negotiation, and documentation.
  • Dedication to continuous professional development, and legal process improvement.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership capabilities, adept at cultivating and managing relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Expertise in litigation of labor law, corporate governance, and data privacy regulations.
  • Proactive approach to issue resolution, consistently identifying and implementing innovative and efficient strategies.
  • Methodical problem-solving skills, delivering practical and structured solutions to complex legal challenges.
  • Proven track record of collaborating effectively with technology companies to navigate complex legal landscapes.
