An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Logistics and Distribution Manager to join a leading cement organisation to be based in La Union.
What you'll do:
As a Logistics and Distribution Manager based in La Union, you will play an instrumental role in shaping the future of logistics operations within a highly integrated environment.
- Oversee the daily operations of plant logistics, including inbound local and imported materials as well as outbound finished product movements to ensure timely delivery.
- Direct and coordinate transportation, storage, and distribution activities across multiple channels such as trucks, ships, and specialised equipment to optimise resource utilisation.
- Plan and manage the flow of goods from manufacturing sites or suppliers through to customers by developing effective scheduling systems that minimise delays.
- Control inventory levels of materials and products to fulfil customer orders efficiently while avoiding unnecessary costs associated with overstocking or stockouts.
- Preside over the movement of materials within the company as well as products being shipped out, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Analyse various delivery options using data-driven insights to select the most cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or safety.
- Conduct regular meetings with carriers, transporters, cargo handlers, and other logistics service providers to review performance metrics and address any operational issues promptly.
- Identify hazards in all logistics-related areas—including facilities maintenance—and implement robust safety protocols for equipment usage and project execution.
- Ensure only qualified third-party service providers are engaged by verifying credentials and adherence to prescribed safety standards at every stage of the supply chain.
- Leverage information technology tools for forecasting stock levels, evaluating transport costs, monitoring delivery times, and assessing overall performance to support strategic decision-making.
What you bring:
To excel as a Logistics and Distribution Manager in this organisation’s La Union facility, you will bring proven expertise gained from managing large-scale supply chain environments where digital tools play an integral role.
- A college degree in Engineering or Business is required; candidates with MBA units are preferred for their advanced understanding of business strategy.
- At least five years’ experience in a managerial or senior supervisory capacity overseeing integrated distribution and supply chain operations within a computerised setting is essential.
- Demonstrated exposure to vessel chartering processes as well as knowledge of geography relevant to shipping routes enhances your suitability for this role.

- Proficiency in production processing techniques coupled with engineering know-how supports your ability to troubleshoot operational challenges swiftly.
- A comprehensive understanding of security protocols ensures safe handling of goods throughout ports and customer-facing operations.
