Business Development Manager
A leading organisation in the secured logistics sector is seeking a Business Development Manager to play a pivotal role in driving growth and expanding market presence across the country.
What you'll do:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies aimed at penetrating new segments within the logistics industry while nurturing existing relationships.
- Identify emerging business opportunities by conducting thorough market research and proactively engaging prospective clients to generate sustainable revenue streams.
- Collaborate closely with the Singapore Sales Team to introduce services, upsell solutions, and cross-sell offerings tailored to client needs.
- Build and maintain strong connections with government agencies, customs authorities, and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless operations and compliance.
- Monitor competitor activities regularly to refine sales approaches and enhance business development plans based on current market trends.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with agents as well as logistics service providers to secure advantageous terms for all parties involved.
- Partner with the Operations Manager to optimise logistics costs while enhancing overall service delivery standards for clients.
- Support cross-border business initiatives by facilitating effective communication between local operations and regional teams.
- Contribute insights into cost-to-service optimisation strategies that improve both client satisfaction and operational efficiency.
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline is required for this position.
- A minimum of three to five years’ experience in Sales, Business Development or Account Management within logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain or transportation sectors is essential.
- Demonstrated history of successful client acquisition efforts as well as proven expertise in market expansion or B2B sales environments.
- Experience working directly with logistics providers or familiarity with customs processes and government-related operational requirements would be highly advantageous.
- Exceptional negotiation abilities complemented by polished presentation skills enable you to communicate value propositions effectively.
- Your talent for building high-value relationships ensures long-term partnerships with clients and external stakeholders alike.
- A solid grasp of logistics workflows combined with an understanding of industry regulations supports your approach to cost-to-service optimisation.
