The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying, preparing, forwarding, and authorising all orders purchased. They will also manage inventory, negotiate with suppliers, and cooperate closely with various departments.
What you'll do:
As a Maritime Purchaser, your role will be pivotal in ensuring smooth operations both onboard and in the office. You will be tasked with verifying, preparing, forwarding, and authorising all orders purchased. Your excellent negotiation skills will be put to use as you liaise with suppliers to secure the best pricing and terms. You will also manage inventory, ensuring data integrity and timely system updates. Working closely with the Senior purchasing officer and technical superintendents will be key to your success in this role. Additionally, you will provide valuable assistance and guidance to the management team onboard.
- Verify, prepare, forward, and authorise all orders purchased
- Ensure safe and correct working conditions onboard and in the office
- Negotiate with suppliers for the best pricing and terms/conditions
- Manage the inventory, data integrity and system updates
- Cooperate closely with the Senior purchasing officer and technical superintendents
- Provide assistance and guidance to the management team onboard
- Take full control and responsibility of supplied provision and on board stock of personal protecting equipment
- Cooperate with the accounting department regarding tracing and approving invoices
