A leading organisation in the food manufacturing and processing sector is seeking a Warehouse Manager to oversee operations across multiple poultry processing plants. What you'll do:

As Warehouse Manager, you will play an integral part in orchestrating the smooth flow of materials and products throughout multiple poultry processing plants.

  • Develop strategic operating plans for warehouse operations that align with both long-term and short-term business objectives to achieve production targets efficiently.
  • Translate operational strategies into actionable objectives, detailed activities, programmes, and schedules that support overall business goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators such as inventory accuracy, order fulfilment rates, and compliance with FIFO systems to ensure optimal productivity.
  • Coordinate closely with production teams to guarantee timely transfer of finished goods from processing lines to the warehouse while maintaining product traceability.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to ensure they are maintained in excellent condition and meet all health, safety, security, and environmental standards.
  • Enforce adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), solid waste management protocols, and other regulatory requirements within the warehouse environment.
  • Lead weekly coordination meetings with cross-functional teams to review service levels, address operational challenges, discuss upcoming production volumes, and resolve any issues affecting warehouse performance.
  • Oversee people management functions including planning work assignments, coaching staff members, conducting performance appraisals, recommending training needs, and facilitating opportunities for career progression.
  • Implement systems for soliciting feedback from internal customers (such as production or logistics) to continuously improve service delivery and responsiveness.
  • Support audits by quality assurance teams and participate in mock recall simulations or traceability exercises as required by food safety protocols.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Warehouse Manager position brings extensive experience managing large-scale warehouse operations within the food processing or manufacturing sector.

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or any four-year business course provides you with the educational background necessary for this complex role.
  • At least 10 years of supervisory or managerial experience within a food processing plant or manufacturing industry ensures you have the hands-on knowledge required for success.
  • Proven skills in people management—including planning work assignments, coaching employees, conducting appraisals, identifying training needs, and supporting career development—are essential for building a dependable team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities enable you to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels as well as external partners or auditors.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in standard office applications such as Word, Excel (or spreadsheets), PowerPoint is vital for managing reports and operational data efficiently.
  • A strong sense of integrity and ethics guides your decision-making processes; you act honestly with fairness towards customers and team members alike while upholding organisational values.
  • Dependability is demonstrated through your consistent follow-through on instructions from management; you take responsibility for meeting deadlines even when extra effort is needed.
