This newly created role will be the key legal advisor for their business, as well as supporting their Australasian operations as Senior Legal Counsel to join their global Legal and Governance team.
What you'll do:
As a Corporate Legal, you will play an integral role in shaping the legal framework of our client's global operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts. You will also provide expert legal advice on a wide array of issues such as competition and consumer law, IP, technology, employment, privacy, data security, and corporate governance. In addition to this, you will manage disputes in conjunction with external counsel. Your role will also involve participating in innovation and continuous improvement of processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Advise on privacy and data security matters across the company’s global operations, ensuring compliance with international regulations and safeguarding company interests.
- Collaborate on the innovation and continuous improvement of internal processes, enhancing efficiency, reducing risks, and contributing to the overall growth of the company.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations to provide informed advice that supports the company’s business strategies.
- Develop and deliver training sessions on legal topics to internal teams, promoting awareness and understanding of legal issues that impact the business.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals and legal requirements.
- Manage disputes and litigation, coordinating with external counsel to develop and execute strategies that protect the company’s interests and minimize legal exposure.
- Offer guidance on corporate governance issues, ensuring that the company adheres to best practices and legal standards in its operations and decision-making processes.
- Provide expert legal counsel on competition and consumer law, intellectual property, technology, and employment matters, offering solutions that mitigate risks and drive business objectives.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Corporate Legal position brings a wealth of experience from a well-regarded law firm or an in-house environment. With at least 7-10 years under your belt, your strong analytical skills enable you to provide sound legal advice on a broad spectrum of issues. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills ensure clear conveyance of complex legal concepts to various stakeholders. - A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a well-regarded law firm or in-house legal environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts.
- Experience managing disputes and coordinating with external counsel to protect the company’s interests and minimize legal risks.
- In-depth knowledge of privacy and data security regulations, with the ability to provide strategic legal advice on global compliance matters.
