What you'll do:
As a Legal and Litigation Counsel based in BGC, Taguig, you will play a pivotal role in supporting multiple departments by delivering expert legal advice tailored to their needs. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve working closely with HR on employment contracts and dispute resolution; assisting finance with regulatory compliance; participating in court hearings; collaborating with risk audit teams; conducting legislative research; drafting key documents; advising management on risk; maintaining detailed records; and nurturing a culture of knowledge sharing. - Provide comprehensive legal advisory services to internal teams including HR, finance, compliance, and risk audit by interpreting laws and regulations relevant to their operations.
- Support the HR department with labour law matters such as employment contracts, workplace investigations, dispute resolution, and employee relations.
- Assist the finance team by offering legal perspectives on transactions, agreements, regulatory compliance issues, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Participate actively in court hearings by preparing case files, drafting pleadings, attending proceedings, and representing the organisation’s interests.
- Collaborate closely with risk compliance audit teams to ensure all business activities adhere to applicable legal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct thorough research on current legislation affecting banking or financial services industries to inform policy decisions and operational practices.
- Draft clear and concise legal documents including contracts, memoranda, reports, and correspondence for various stakeholders within the organisation.
- Advise management on potential risks arising from business operations or external factors by providing actionable recommendations based on legal analysis.
- Maintain accurate records of litigation cases, investigations, contract reviews, and other legal matters for reporting purposes.

Your proven track record includes handling litigation cases from start to finish—preparing files for court hearings; drafting pleadings; attending proceedings; advocating for organisational interests—and providing strategic legal advice across HR (labour law), finance (regulatory compliance), risk audit (policy review), or similar functions. You excel at drafting clear documents for internal use; conducting legislative research relevant to banking or financial services sectors; advising management on operational risks; maintaining meticulous records; collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams; demonstrating sensitivity towards diverse perspectives; sharing knowledge generously with colleagues; and embracing ongoing training opportunities that foster your professional development. Your dependability ensures stakeholders trust your judgement while your responsiveness guarantees timely support when needed.
- You possess 3-5 years post-qualification experience as a lawyer with at least one year dedicated exclusively to litigation work.
- Your background includes hands-on involvement in court hearings such as preparing case files, drafting pleadings, attending proceedings, and advocating for clients or organisations.
- You have demonstrated ability to provide legal advisory services across HR (labour law), finance (regulatory compliance), risk audit (policy review), or similar functions within any industry—banking experience is preferred but not required.
- You are comfortable drafting contracts, memoranda, reports, correspondence or other legal documents for internal stakeholders.
- Your interpersonal skills enable you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams while maintaining sensitivity towards diverse perspectives.
- You are adept at conducting legislative research relevant to banking or financial services sectors for policy development or operational guidance.
- You bring proven experience advising management on potential risks arising from business operations or external factors by providing actionable recommendations based on legal analysis.
- You maintain meticulous records of litigation cases, investigations or contract reviews for reporting purposes.
