Robert Walters Philippines marks its first year

It was a year of many firsts and achievements for Robert Walters as the company marked 12 months of operations in Manila. Here are a few highlights from the past year:

2017 Global Salary Survey

Robert Walters Philippines launched the 2017 Global Salary Survey on the 1st of February 2017. Now in its eighteenth edition, the annual Global Salary Survey is the most comprehensive review of global salaries and recruitment trends in the marketplace. Our 2017 book is based on the analysis of permanent, interim and contract placements made across each of our geographies and recruitment disciplines during 2016, as well as our predictions for the year ahead.

Held at the Tower Club Makati, the launch was graced by 30 guests and featured an exclusive keynote by our Country Manager, Eric Mary.

Balik Bayan

The year also saw the inauguration of the company’s Balik Bayan (which literally means “to return home” in Tagalog) initiative to attract Filipinos currently living and working abroad to come back to the Philippines and find employment there.

Leveraging its global network across 28 countries, Robert Walters Philippines works very closely with offices across the world to connect with Filipinos living abroad. These contacts are the foundation of their efforts to build a database of overseas Filipinos and maintain contact with talent keen on moving back home to their mother country. This programme is overseen by a dedicated International Candidate Manager who is responsible for identifying and connecting with overseas Filipinos seeking opportunities back home.

Being the first and only recruitment firm in the Philippines to launch such an initiative, Robert Walters Philippines was featured prominently in local and international media. These included an exclusive interview with Eric Mary on Balik Bayan by Business World Online, and in-depth coverage on the initiative by Human Resources Online. 

Innovation in Recruitment

Showcasing the latest recruitment tools, apps and/or gadgets in recruitment, Robert Walters Philippines in conjunction with Resource Solutions presented ‘Innovation in Recruitment’ on 9 May in Tower Club Makati.

‘Live demos’ of branded video job specs, predictive analytics search tools, artificial intelligence such as ARYA and the latest online assessment and onboarding apps were presented. Many senior HR representatives were ‘swept away’  by the content presented and ability to adopt the tools in a practical manner.
