What you'll do:
As Sales Manager – Prescription and Over the Counter Products based in Manila but covering the entire Philippines territory, you will play a pivotal role in shaping commercial success through hands-on leadership of a talented sales team. Your day-to-day activities will involve setting clear goals for your direct reports while supporting their professional growth through regular coaching sessions. You will be responsible for translating strategic brand direction into practical action plans that resonate with both healthcare professionals (HCPs) for Rx products and retail partners for OTC offerings. By maintaining close relationships with key accounts—including major hospital groups and pharmacy chains—you will ensure optimal product placement and sustained revenue growth. Your ability to monitor performance metrics rigorously allows you to address challenges swiftly while keeping your team motivated towards shared objectives. In addition to driving top-line results through omnichannel engagement tactics such as digital detailing or pharmacy activations, you will also manage financial aspects like budgeting or incentive schemes in close coordination with internal stakeholders. Cross-functional collaboration is central to your success; you will work hand-in-hand with Marketing on campaign alignment, Regulatory Affairs on compliance matters, Supply Chain on inventory management, HR on training initiatives, and Medical Affairs on scientific communications. Upholding ethical standards is paramount—your commitment to integrity ensures that all promotional activities adhere strictly to company policies as well as Philippine FDA guidelines.
- Guide, nurture, and inspire a team of District Managers, Medical Representatives, Key Account Managers, and Trade Representatives to achieve ambitious sales targets for both prescription and over-the-counter portfolios.
- Set clear performance expectations by establishing measurable KPIs for all members of the field force while providing ongoing coaching and regular performance reviews to support their development.
- Conduct frequent field visits and joint calls with sales staff to ensure effective customer engagement and high-quality execution of sales strategies across all regions.
- Drive recruitment efforts as well as onboarding and comprehensive training programmes for new sales team members to build a cohesive and skilled workforce.
- Translate brand objectives into actionable sales plans that align with marketing strategies while ensuring robust HCP engagement for Rx products and strong pharmacy/retail presence for OTC lines.
- Manage key relationships with hospitals, clinics, chain pharmacies such as Mercury Drug or Watsons, independent outlets, and other trade partners to maximise market coverage.
- Monitor regional sales performance by channel and product category; proactively identify gaps or challenges and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Champion omnichannel engagement initiatives—including face-to-face meetings, digital detailing, and pharmacy activation—to optimise reach and effectiveness.
- Oversee business accountability by managing budgets, incentives, trade spending, pricing strategies, tenders, contract negotiations, and profitability monitoring in partnership with Finance teams.
- Collaborate extensively with Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain Management, HR, and Medical Affairs to ensure seamless execution of campaigns, compliance with regulations, product availability, scientific accuracy in HCP interactions, and ongoing field force development.

- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Business Administration—or related discipline—with preference given to those holding an MBA qualification due to advanced business acumen.
- At least 8–10 years’ proven experience within pharmaceutical sales environments including significant exposure (minimum three years) in a senior leadership capacity overseeing both Rx and OTC portfolios.
- Demonstrated history of achieving or exceeding ambitious sales targets while cultivating high levels of employee engagement within large field forces.
- Deep familiarity with the Philippine healthcare landscape encompassing HCP networks (hospitals/clinics), retail pharmacy operations (chain/independent), distributor partnerships—and regulatory frameworks governing ethical promotion.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills enabling you to build trust-based relationships with medical professionals as well as trade partners; adept at negotiation within complex stakeholder environments.
- Strategic mindset paired with strong execution focus—capable of translating broad organisational objectives into detailed operational plans that deliver tangible outcomes.
- Financial literacy sufficient for managing budgets/incentives/trade spend; able to partner effectively with Finance/BPA teams on profitability analysis or ROI assessments.
