Head of Data

About the Head of Data Role:
This is a great opportunity to redevelop group systems and processes. You will be part of the global IT team within a dynamic organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Bridge business and technology and moderate enterprise data requirements
• Effectively communicate the status, value, and importance of data collection to executive members and staff
• Establish a culture within your organisation that normalises sharing this data and making informed decisions on how to improve future business outcomes
• Design and implementing data strategies and systems
• Oversee the collection, storage, management, quality, and protection of data
• Lead technical data interactions and manage key relationships
• Define and improve on data science methods, tool sets and processes
• Data governance: create a governance framework
• Collaborate with legal, biz ops, compliance, BI, and info sec cross-functional processes and correct ownership of data
• Own and manage data validation processes, resolve weaknesses and manage risks
• Implement a data quality framework to establish standards, controls and associated metrics for all dimensions of data quality (accuracy, completeness, consistency, integrity, reason, timeliness, uniqueness, and validity)

To succeed in the Head of Data role job, you will need to have the ability to work effectively and co-operatively with senior business development teams, across borders and internal matrix.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field. Graduate degree in Data Science or any other quantitative field is preferred
• Master's degree preferred
• Seven years’ experience in a senior-level data role
• Management experience
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Project management skills
• Knowledge of relevant applications, big data solutions, and tools
• Knowledge of data science dynamics and development
• Expertise in data engineering - SQL, Data warehousing, data/ETL pipeline designing. Deep knowledge of tools like Airflow, Hadoop, Spark, or similar
• Relevant programming experience Working experience with Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services or Terraform
• Working knowledge of deploying machine learning products
