Head of Data Engineering

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Data Engineering to lead their data engineering team and drive improvements of their data platform. This role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of data architecture, engineering, and analytics particularly within Azure Data Platform and Databricks ecosystem.

What you'll do:

As the Head of Data Engineering, you will be responsible for leading a dynamic team focused on building and maintaining robust data platforms. You will oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of data pipelines while ensuring the quality and security of data across various systems.

• Share the head's delegated responsibilities, take full accountability for delivery in the assigned unit
• Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of data pipelines, platforms, and architectures for large-scale data processing
• Ensure the quality, integrity, security, and privacy of data across systems and platforms
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for the data engineering team
• Optimize resource allocation across teams, manage vendor relationships, and provide support for issue resolution and risk management during execution
• Conduct performance reviews for delivery managers, architects, and team leads

• Experience in designing scalable and efficient data pipelines
• Expertise in Azure Data Platform Services include Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure Cosmos DB, Streaming, API consumption and Databricks
• Problem-solving capabilities
