What you'll do:

• Design, build, and maintain robust data systems and scalable pipelines that support prescriptive and predictive analytics across the organisation.

• Interpret complex trends and patterns within datasets to provide actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making at all levels.
• Conduct sophisticated data analysis using advanced statistical methods and report findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Prepare high-quality data sets for use in prescriptive and predictive modelling initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and patient care outcomes.
• Develop algorithms and prototypes tailored to specific business challenges, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance optimisation.
• Integrate disparate information streams by combining raw data from diverse internal and external sources into unified repositories.
• Continuously explore new ways to enhance data quality, reliability, security, and compliance with industry standards.
• Identify opportunities for acquiring new data sources or improving existing ones to expand analytical capabilities.

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field is required; a Master’s degree is considered an advantage for more complex project involvement.
• At least 1 to 2 years’ proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role within large-scale enterprise environments is essential for success in this position.
• Technical expertise with designing data models, performing data mining operations, segmentation techniques, and managing structured/unstructured datasets is crucial.
• Advanced hands-on experience with SQL database design as well as Databricks platforms ensures efficient querying and management of large datasets.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Scala (with Java being beneficial) enables you to develop scalable ETL pipelines tailored to business needs.
• Demonstrated ability working with Azure Cloud Databases—including resource management and cost optimisation—supports cloud-based analytics initiatives effectively.
• Deep understanding of Apache Spark core concepts (RDDs, DataFrames, Spark SQL/Streaming/MLlib) along with experience tuning Spark jobs for optimal performance is highly valued.
• Familiarity with Delta Lake operations (upserts, Z-ordering, VACUUM), ACID transactions, schema enforcement in modern data lakes enhances reliability of solutions delivered.
• Experience integrating relational databases (e.g., MySQL) as well as NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB/Cassandra) broadens your capacity for handling diverse information types.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills—especially fluency in English—are vital for engaging cross-country stakeholders and facilitating requirement-gathering sessions effectively.
• Strong organisational skills combined with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously ensures timely completion of all requests without compromising quality.
• Experience or knowledge using Salesforce, SAP, Oracle or Genesys platforms is considered advantageous but not mandatory for this role.
• Certifications such as IBM Certified Data Engineer or Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate/Professional are strong pluses that demonstrate commitment to ongoing learning.
