What you'll do:

• Analyse internally and externally sourced raw data to generate business intelligence and advanced analytics datasets tailored to stakeholder requirements.
• Design efficient data pipelines that curate sourced data into the in-house data warehouse, ensuring seamless integration and accessibility.
• Develop data marts that facilitate easy dataset consumption by both business users and IT teams from the in-house data warehouse.
• Create and refine data models that align with established standards for the in-house data warehouse, supporting scalability and consistency.
• Define detailed migration execution activities required to move data from existing database solutions into the new in-house data warehouse environment.
• Perform regular housekeeping of raw data as well as curated datasets within the in-house data warehouse to maintain optimal performance and reliability.
• Build, maintain, and enhance robust data pipelines and platforms that underpin critical business operations and analytics initiatives.
• Prototype innovative data solutions that address emerging business needs while exploring ways to improve overall data quality and reliability.
• Identify opportunities to acquire higher quality or more relevant raw data sources, enhancing the value of analytical outputs for stakeholders.
• Develop analytical tooling designed to support business intelligence and advanced analytics activities, promoting best practices in data engineering.

What you bring:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or another quantitative discipline from a respected university is essential for this position.
• At least seven years of experience working in data engineering or a similar technical role where you have demonstrated your ability to deliver complex projects successfully.
• A strong understanding or hands-on experience with at least one enterprise Agile framework such as Kanban, SAFe or SCRUM is highly desirable for effective teamwork.
• Comprehensive knowledge of ETL processes, modern data warehousing concepts (including Qlik), and advanced analytics techniques is required for success in this role.
• Familiarity with cloud-enabled technologies such as AWS RDS or AWS Fargate would be advantageous but not mandatory.
• Experience working with databases like Snowflake, PostgreSQL or MS SQL is important for managing diverse datasets efficiently.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Java or Python would be beneficial when developing custom solutions or automating workflows.
• Practical experience using ETL tools like AWS Glue is considered an asset for streamlining complex transformations.
• Excellent communication skills combined with a team-oriented approach are vital for collaborating effectively across departments.
• Strong critical-thinking abilities along with analytical problem-solving skills are necessary for addressing challenges creatively.
