Our client is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is a 5x a week on-site (BGC) position. This role offers the opportunity to manage daily operations, support and maintenance of data center and WAN networks in the Philippines location. What you'll do:
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations, support, and maintenance of the data center and WAN networks. You will utilize your expertise in network systems to support system and application development projects. Your role will also involve leading the maintenance and troubleshooting of complex network systems software, hardware, and core infrastructure. You will participate in network planning, design network architecture, establish protocol compatibility standards, develop network enhancements, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor and maintain highly complex network systems software, hardware and core infrastructure
- Utilize software and hardware tools to identify and diagnose complex problems affecting network performance
- Provide network systems subject matter expertise in support of systems and application development projects
- Lead maintenance and troubleshooting of complex network systems software, hardware and core infrastructure
- Participate in network planning, network architecture design and engineering
- Design and establish protocol compatibility standards, develop network enhancements and make recommendations for improvement
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Network Engineer position brings a wealth of knowledge in network operations and engineering. You possess a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification or equivalent experience. Your background includes a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems or equivalent experience. A Master's degree in related systems or business field would be advantageous. You have 5-7 years of relevant experience under your belt. Your knowledge extends to industry specifications and standards, dynamic routing protocols, data center switching infrastructure, network design, architecture, protocols, topology as well as Software Defined Networking, WAN optimization and IP load balancers. You are comfortable working in a team environment and can adapt to a 24X7 Network Operations environment, including overnight hours.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems or equivalent experience
- Master's degree in related systems or business field preferred or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years relevant network operations and engineering experience
- Knowledge of related industry specifications and standards, dynamic routing protocols, data center switching infrastructure, network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology
- Knowledge of Software Defined Networking, WAN optimization and IP load balancers is desired.
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work in a 24X7 Network Operations environment, working overnight hours
