What you'll do:

As a Junior IT Engineer, your role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth running of our client's IT infrastructure. You'll be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining various IT hardware while ensuring the security of the systems through regular updates and patches. Your keen attention to detail will aid in monitoring system performance and providing prompt technical assistance. Collaborating with teams for system enhancements will also form part of your duties.

• Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware including computers, servers, printers, and other peripherals.
• Ensure the IT systems are secured by applying patches, updates, and antivirus software.
• Manage and monitor system performance to ensure reliability and efficiency.
• Provide technical assistance to users for IT-related issues in a timely manner.
• Develop and implement enforce IT security policies.
• Maintain logs for technical support incidents including resolutions and follow-up actions.
• Monitor the inventory of all IT equipment, software, and software licenses.
• Collaborate with teams to implement system enhancements and customizations.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Junior IT Engineer position brings a strong academic background in Computer Engineering or a related field. Your proficiency in Windows operating systems coupled with your knowledge of networking protocols will be crucial in this role. Your ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues will be highly valued. Good communication skills are essential as you'll be interacting with various teams within the organisation. Willingness to work on a shifting schedule is required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• Proficiency in Windows operating systems.
• Knowledge in networking protocol and server management.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work on a shifting schedule.
• Experience in PC troubleshooting or related field is an advantage.
