- Benefit from a culture that encourages professional development, knowledge sharing, and flexible working arrangements designed to support your personal and career growth.
What you'll do:
As an IT Disaster Recovery Manager based in Makati, you will play an instrumental role in fortifying the organisation’s ability to respond effectively to unexpected disruptions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close collaboration with various internal teams—ranging from business continuity experts to IT specialists—as well as external partners such as third-party vendors. You will lead efforts in conducting rigorous risk assessments and business impact analyses that inform strategic decision-making around disaster recovery planning. By preparing and executing comprehensive DR exercises, you will ensure that all systems meet established RTOs and RPOs while remaining compliant with relevant regulations. Your proactive approach will see you continuously reviewing procedures, advocating improvements where needed, managing key relationships across the organisation’s network, and providing clear communication at every stage. Success in this role means not only maintaining operational resilience but also fostering a culture of preparedness through diligent oversight, effective coordination, and a commitment to ongoing enhancement of disaster recovery capabilities.
- Work closely with Group Business Continuity, Business Unit, and internal delivery teams on comprehensive service reporting activities that ensure transparency and accountability across all disaster recovery initiatives.
- Perform detailed business impact analyses (BIA) and risk assessments to quantify the effects of major disruptions on critical processes while identifying potential threats facing the organisation.
- Prepare, coordinate, and conduct disaster recovery exercises as well as validation tests to enhance preparedness for disruptive events, ensuring recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO) are consistently achieved.
- Review existing disaster recovery approaches and procedures regularly, updating runbooks as necessary to reflect evolving risks and operational needs.
- Assess the readiness of critical business functions by reviewing the capability and capacity of recovery systems, overseeing solution implementation, and conducting thorough tests to guarantee disaster recovery preparedness.
- Advocate for continuous service improvement by developing actionable plans that address operational gaps identified during reviews or post-incident analyses.
- Manage relationships with Business Units’ Business Continuity Coordinators as well as third-party disaster recovery vendors to ensure seamless collaboration and effective execution of DR strategies.
- Foster strong stakeholder relationships by maintaining open lines of communication with local business units, risk management teams, audit departments, IT staff, corporate security personnel, human resources professionals, key vendors, and cloud managed service providers.
- Conduct postmortem analyses following disaster recovery events or drills; prepare detailed test reports and management summaries that inform ongoing strategy refinement.
- Take responsibility for considering both business risks and regulatory compliance requirements in all activities while proactively implementing measures to mitigate these risks.
What you bring:
To excel as an IT Disaster Recovery Manager, you will bring substantial experience gained from supporting large-scale organisations through complex disaster recovery challenges. Your background should include hands-on involvement with both traditional DR frameworks and modern automated solutions that enhance efficiency. You will have demonstrated your ability to manage projects end-to-end—balancing competing priorities without compromising quality or compliance. Your technical acumen must be matched by outstanding interpersonal abilities; you know how to foster cooperation among colleagues from different departments as well as external partners. A keen eye for detail ensures nothing slips through the cracks when it comes to documentation or process review. Above all else, your commitment to upholding regulatory standards while driving continuous improvement makes you an invaluable asset who can be relied upon during times of crisis.
- At least five years’ experience delivering IT Disaster Recovery services within a regional IT hub supporting organisations with global reach is essential for success in this role.
- Comprehensive understanding of ITIL Service Continuity Management concepts—including frameworks for activation, maintenance, reinstatement—and practical application within complex environments is required.
- Demonstrated expertise in digitalisation and automation of disaster recovery processes or workflows will enable you to streamline operations efficiently.
- A proven track record in project management is vital for coordinating multiple workstreams simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
- In-depth knowledge of disaster recovery planning methodologies as well as hands-on experience conducting live DR test scenarios is highly valued.
- Certification in Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery disciplines is preferred but not mandatory; related qualifications will be considered favourably.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills combined with a collaborative mindset are necessary for building trust-based relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
- The ability to exercise sound judgement independently while prioritising tasks effectively ensures high-quality outcomes under pressure.
