ETL Tester

About the ETL Tester Role:
In this business critical role, you will be responsible for validating data sources, extracting data applications of transformation logic and uploading data in target tables. You will also be responsible for designing, testing, and troubleshooting the customer’s data storage system before it goes live.

Key Responsibilities:

• Backend and ETL testing
• Automation Testing experience
• Validate multiple source databases to target data warehouse tables
• Adapt to Cascading and Agile working environments dependent on given projects
• Manage stakeholder and key resource engagement
• Write and assist the creation of data models and entity relationship diagrams, presentations and feedback loops to communicate problem statements, issues or test results
• Conduct system-to-system integration, functional, end-to-end testing and acceptance testing where needed
• Create and manage our test data, stubs and harnesses, et al
• Determine when and where to automate testing
• Data analysis, including profiling, auditing, balancing, and reconciliation, in an information technology operating environment
• Defect tracking (e.g. Jira, Bugzilla, etc.)
• Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases after identifying data requirements

To succeed in the ETL Tester job, you must be able to provide leadership and direction in establishment of standardised QA testing processes and practices.

Key Requirements:

• At least three years' software quality assurance experience on enterprise level applications, including data warehouse testing
• Experience in writing complex SQL queries, ability to determine the types of testing that must be conducted (e.g. data validation, regression, etc.), including evaluating the testability of requirements and create a comprehensive test plan that supports the business and technological solutions being delivered
• Should have experience testing multiple test phases in medium to large projects
• Should have adequate experience and clear understanding of data warehouse and data mart testing
• Identification and test data preparation techniques
• Thorough knowledge of Software Test Life Cycle, Test Case Life Cycle, Defect Life Cycle, etc. Proficiency with Test Case Preparation and Execution
• Understanding of Data Quality Framework
