Front End Engineer

Our client is a global leader in the banking industry, committed to empowering people to stay a step ahead in life and business. They are currently seeking a Front End Engineer with a knack for building efficient, user-friendly web applications.

What you'll do:

As a Front End Engineer, your primary responsibility will be delivering robust web apps and sites as directed by business constraints while respecting controls. You'll ensure alignment to Architect roadmaps and strategies, meet service levels for systems including availability, security, and performance. Your deep understanding of the modern web platform will be crucial in this role. You'll also develop and maintain standards of software development and components where applicable. Part of your role will involve identifying and reducing technical debt. You'll mentor & coach other developers in their learning & development journey. Taking ownership of all assigned tasks will be key to your success.

• Deliver features while meeting quality criteria and project constraints
• Ensure alignment to Architect roadmaps and strategies
• Meet service levels for systems (availability, security, and performance)
• Understand deeply about the modern web platform, especially web components, progressive web apps
• Develop and maintain standards of software development and components where applicable
• Identify and reduce technical debt
• Mentor & coach other developers in their learning & development
• Take ownership of all assigned tasks
• Be proactive in promoting ‘Best Practices’

What you bring:

As our ideal Front End Engineer candidate, you are passionate about front-end technologies and continuously stay informed about new trends and developments. Code quality is important to you, and writing clean, efficient code excites you. You advocate for Test Driven Development and write robust unit tests and integration tests to ensure high code coverage. Your strong expertise in front-end development is complemented by your hands-on experience designing and building user interfaces. You have a working knowledge of version control systems (Git), build tools (Maven), and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps). Your familiarity with back-end integration and REST-JSON APIs ensures seamless interaction between front-end and back-end services.

• Hands-on experience designing and building user interfaces
• Working knowledge of version control systems (Git), build tools (Maven), and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps)
• Familiarity with back-end integration and REST-JSON APIs
• Understanding of front-end performance optimization techniques like lazy loading, code splitting, and caching strategies.
• Experience with browser-based testing tools and front-end performance testing
