What you'll do:

• Lead the strategic planning and execution of quality assurance activities across several concurrent software development projects to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality solutions.
• Define, document, and enforce comprehensive quality standards, testing methodologies, and best practices that align with organisational goals and industry benchmarks.
• Mentor and manage a team of skilled QA engineers by providing guidance on performance reviews, career progression, and skills development within a nurturing environment.
• Work collaboratively with product managers, developers, DevOps specialists, and business stakeholders to foster an inclusive approach to quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated testing frameworks and tools to enhance test coverage and efficiency.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating current QA processes, introducing new tools or metrics, and driving adoption of innovative testing techniques.
• Ensure thorough test coverage by coordinating functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing efforts across all relevant platforms.
• Manage test environments and data sets effectively while overseeing release readiness activities to guarantee smooth deployments.
• Lead root cause analysis investigations for critical defects and implement preventive measures to mitigate future risks.
• Provide regular updates on QA metrics, potential risks, and emerging quality trends to senior leadership in clear and actionable reports.

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field demonstrating foundational technical knowledge essential for this role.
• At least seven years’ experience in software quality assurance with three or more years spent in a senior or leadership capacity managing teams within enterprise environments.
• Proven track record leading QA efforts for large-scale applications using established methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
• Expertise in designing automated test frameworks utilising tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright or TestNG for efficient regression coverage.
• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Java, Python or JavaScript enabling hands-on contributions when needed.
• Experience integrating QA processes with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps for streamlined deployments.
• Familiarity with performance testing (e.g., JMeter) and security testing (e.g., OWASP ZAP) tools supporting robust application validation.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform reflecting modern infrastructure trends.
• Exposure to regulated industries such as finance or healthcare where compliance is paramount adds valuable perspective.
• Understanding containerisation technologies like Docker or Kubernetes for effective management of test environments.
