The Delivery Manager owns the end-to-end delivery of complex digital initiatives, ensuring solutions are designed, built, and delivered to meet business, technical, and regulatory requirements. This role serves as the single point of accountability across product, engineering, and stakeholders, providing technical oversight, managing risks and dependencies, and driving high-quality, timely execution in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

What you'll do:

As a Delivery Manager, you will play a pivotal role in steering the successful delivery of digital products by combining your technical acumen with strong organisational skills. Your day-to-day activities will involve guiding multiple technical teams through complex projects while ensuring that every aspect—from initial requirements gathering to final deployment—is executed flawlessly. You will act as the central point of accountability for aligning business needs with architectural vision and execution plans. By collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as DevOps, QA, Product Management, and Production Support, you will ensure that each initiative is production-ready and meets rigorous standards for quality and security. Your ability to coach team members for continuous improvement will help cultivate a culture of excellence across the organisation. Through meticulous planning of environment setups and release validations as well as thorough documentation of key outputs like roadmaps and risk logs, you will contribute significantly to the organisation’s success in delivering scalable digital solutions.

  • Drive the complete delivery lifecycle of one or more digital products or initiatives, starting from requirements definition all the way to successful deployment.
  • Provide technical oversight and solution guidance to ensure that designs adhere to architectural principles as well as security standards throughout the project.
  • Manage several technical teams simultaneously, encouraging close collaboration to deliver impactful results on complex digital solutions.
  • Oversee initiative execution by identifying risks, managing dependencies, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders at every stage.
  • Ensure seamless alignment between engineering teams, product owners, and business objectives so that all parties work towards shared goals.
  • Collaborate extensively with DevOps, QA, Product Management, and Production Support teams to guarantee production readiness before each release.
  • Supervise environment setup activities, plan deployments meticulously, and validate releases to maintain high standards of quality.
  • Coach Team Leads and Engineers regularly to foster continuous improvement in both technical skills and delivery practices.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation such as delivery roadmaps, milestone trackers, solution designs, system flows, sprint summaries, risk logs with mitigation actions, and post-implementation review reports.

What you bring:

Your proven experience in software engineering—especially in lead or managerial roles—will be instrumental in excelling as a Delivery Manager. You bring not only deep technical knowledge but also an empathetic approach to team collaboration that fosters trust among colleagues. Your familiarity with Agile practices ensures smooth project execution while your expertise in backend technologies allows you to provide valuable guidance during solution design phases. Having worked in regulated or enterprise settings before means you understand the importance of compliance without sacrificing innovation. Your interpersonal skills make it easy for you to connect with stakeholders from various departments; whether it’s facilitating discussions between product owners or supporting engineers’ growth through coaching sessions. The ability to document processes thoroughly ensures transparency throughout each project lifecycle. By leveraging these strengths within an inclusive environment that values continuous learning—and by sharing insights generously—you’ll help drive successful outcomes for both your team members and the wider organisation.

  • Demonstrated experience spanning 5–10 years in software engineering roles with at least 3–5 years spent in lead or managerial positions overseeing very complex solution deliveries.
  • Hands-on background as a developer, architect or tech lead is considered a strong advantage for this role due to its technical nature.
  • Deep understanding of modern delivery practices including Agile methodologies, DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines and microservices architectures.
  • Proven track record working within regulated or enterprise environments where compliance and process rigour are essential.
  • Robust technical expertise particularly focused on backend services using mainstream technology stacks such as Java, JavaScript or C#.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration across diverse teams including Product Owners, DevOps specialists, QA professionals and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to produce detailed documentation covering solution designs, system flows, sprint summaries as well as risk logs with actionable mitigation strategies.
  • Experience coaching team leads and engineers for ongoing professional development within a supportive framework.
  • Strong organisational abilities allowing for efficient management of multiple concurrent projects while maintaining alignment between engineering objectives and business priorities.
