About the CIO Role:
The CIO is in charge of developing and directing the information technology and computer systems initiatives and strategies to ensure that the technological functionality supports the overall strategic vision of the company

Key Responsibilities:

Business Leadership and Governance

• Drives the analysis and re-engineering of existing business processes, identifying and developing the capability to use new tools and reshaping the organisation’s IT infrastructure
• Recommends and executes decisions related to information technology and computer systems
• Heads the crucial IT projects that are essential to the achievement of the company’s strategic and operational requirements
• Approves the purchase of information technology equipment; monitors the IT department’s budget and deciding whether and how to procure the necessary equipment

Trends and Risk Management

• Maps out both the IT strategies and policies which covers future-proofing as well as developing internal and external standards needed for the company’s protection and thereby reduce chances of error
• Anticipates technology and usage trends in the market place as it is about ensuring that the business navigates these trends with expert guidance and strategic planning aligned to the corporate strategy
• Develops business relationships with IT vendors; maintains a healthy relationship with vendors and suppliers who produce or manufacture IT devices for corporate use. This can be useful in learning about new technologies before their competitors

People Management

• Leads and directs the IT workforce with the best interest for the whole organisation in mind
• Coaches and motivates the team to peak performance
• Monitors and evaluates the performance of the team. Ensures growth and development of team by sending them to training and other development activities
• Ensures a harmonious environment and smooth operations in the IT division

To succeed in this CIO role, you will manage the division’s resources, strategic plans, security, policies, infrastructure and architecture, technology assessment and acquisitions, process improvement, leadership management and budget

Key Requirements:

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field; graduate degree in data science or any other quantitative field is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in management, IT, engineering or any related course; a master's degree is an advantage
• 10 or more years in IT as a Division Head, preferably gained in banking or a related industry
• Minimum of three years in an executive role
• Leadership programme
• IT certifications
