Senior General Accountant

What you'll do:

As a Senior General Accountant based in Calamba, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of the organisation. You will work closely with department heads to gather inputs for annual budgets while ensuring all statutory filings are completed accurately and on time.

• Prepare journals for accruals, adjustments, and execute relevant month-end activities to ensure accurate financial records.
• Conduct sanity checks on financial data and analyse financial statements including balance sheets to maintain integrity and compliance with accounting standards.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data while supporting effective allocation of resources and controlling costs within the business.
• Coordinate with department heads and management to collect inputs for annual budgets, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Maintain compliance with local statutory requirements, tax regulations, and internal controls by adhering to relevant financial regulations and standards.
• File timely, accurate, and complete statutory reports including GST and tax submissions to local authorities as required by law.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as finance, accounting, operations, and other departments to achieve common financial goals.
• Support risk management initiatives by ensuring adherence to internal procedures designed to mitigate financial risks within the organisation.
• Provide insightful analysis of financial trends and strategic recommendations based on data-driven insights to inform business decisions.
• Contribute proactively to continuous improvement efforts by identifying root causes of financial challenges and implementing solutions that enhance efficiency.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior General Accountant role brings proven experience from multi-national companies within the finance or accounting sector. Your experience in manufacturing settings combined with proficiency using SAP systems gives you an edge when managing complex transactions.

• Degree or diploma qualification in Finance, Accounting or related field is essential for this position; CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
• Minimum five years of relevant finance and accounting experience within a multi-national company environment is required.
• Experience working in manufacturing settings as well as familiarity with SAP systems will be highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of local statutory requirements including tax regulations and compliance standards specific to geographic regions where the company operates is necessary.
• Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as finance, accounting, operations, and other departments.
• Analytical thinking skills are needed to interpret complex financial information, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations based on data-driven insights.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills allow you to build strong relationships across teams while contributing positively to a supportive workplace environment.
