Sr. Accountant

An organization within Shipping/Energy industry is seeking a dedicated Accountant to join their finance team. You will play a pivotal part in managing all accounting cycles, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting both local and international operations. What you'll do:

For this role, you will immerse yourself in a variety of essential finance functions that underpin the success of the organization. Your day-to-day activities will involve meticulous management of accounting cycles for multiple entities, from transaction booking to account review and accrual estimation. Tax management is another key area where you’ll collaborate with both internal teams and external consultants to guarantee compliance. Your ability to adapt to new tasks as required by the finance department ensures that you remain integral to the team’s ongoing success.

• Manage all accounting cycles for one or more local companies, including booking transactions, reviewing accounts, estimating accruals, and ensuring accuracy throughout the process.
• Oversee invoicing procedures and customer recovery efforts, maintaining positive relationships with clients while ensuring timely payments.
• Handle suppliers’ payments by preparing voucher requests and monitoring settlements of accounts, reconciling supplier statements regularly.
• Conduct detailed reconciliation and analysis of Ship Owners’ accounts with End Client accounts, ensuring transparency and accuracy in all financial dealings.
• Collaborate with the local team or tax consultants to prepare monthly tax declarations, reviewing documents thoroughly before submission.
• Supervise all accounting reconciliations including bank reconciliations performed by Treasury, intercompany reconciliations, petty cash reconciliation, tax reconciliation, payroll reconciliation, as well as general ledger reconciliations.
• Manage assets by identifying them accurately and calculating depreciation according to established guidelines.
• Perform analytical booking tasks to support comprehensive financial analysis and reporting requirements.
• Prepare closure bookkeeping entries such as P&L cut-offs for income and expenses accruals, prepaid items, re-evaluation of currency exchange transactions, and IFRS bookings in cooperation with the Financial Controller.
