Senior Accountant

A leading organisation in Makati City is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their Finance – Accounting Operations team.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Accountant based in Makati City, you will play an integral role within the Finance – Accounting Operations team.

• Assist with journal posting and ensure all documentation is properly maintained for accurate general ledger management.
• Support intercompany accounting processes by performing reconciliations and resolving discrepancies efficiently.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations regularly, addressing any issues to maintain financial integrity.
• Maintain comprehensive records of fixed assets including acquisitions and disposals, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Ensure revenue and cost recognition processes are thorough and precise for assigned entities.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, tracking cost allocations and operational metrics for effective reporting.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver timely reports and ensure alignment between management reporting and statutory financials.
• Coordinate external audit requirements by preparing entity-level statutory accounts under IFRS/local GAAP standards.
• Supervise banking operations, perform detailed bank reconciliations, support cash flow forecasting, and monitor liquidity.
• Assist with payroll tax processing, withholding tax compliance, VAT returns, corporate tax submissions, and documentation for tax audits.

What you bring:

To excel as a Senior Accountant in Makati City, you should bring proven experience in accounting or finance roles along with a solid educational background in these fields.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field (or equivalent experience) is required for this position.
• At least 5 years of experience in an accounting or finance role is preferred; internships or entry-level experience may also be considered.
• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles as well as regulatory requirements relevant to the industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential; familiarity with accounting software such as Workday or Power BI would be advantageous.
• Strong organisational skills are necessary for maintaining attention to detail and accuracy across all tasks.
• Excellent communication skills are vital for effective collaboration with teams across departments.
• Ability to support intercompany accounting processes through reconciliations and discrepancy resolution.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts under IFRS/local GAAP standards is highly valued.
