Internal Control Manager

Save job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Internal Control Manager to join a leading organisation with a significant presence across the APAC region, including the Philippines, Japan, and Cyprus.

What you'll do:

As an Internal Control Manager based in Davao, you will be entrusted with ensuring that robust financial controls are not only designed but also effectively implemented across multiple countries within the APAC region.

  • Provide independent assurance over the design and operating effectiveness of financial controls throughout the APAC region by validating key financial reporting controls against international standards.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing enhancement of ICFR frameworks by identifying areas for improvement and ensuring alignment with IFRS, group accounting policies, and governance requirements.
  • Conduct periodic testing of key controls across all material entities, documenting evidence in structured formats that are ready for audit review at any time.
  • Identify control gaps or deficiencies through detailed analysis, agree remediation plans with local process owners, and track progress through to successful closure while escalating unresolved issues as necessary.
  • Drive standardisation in control documentation across regions by promoting consistency and supporting automation initiatives that reduce manual intervention in high-risk processes.
  • Act as the primary liaison for ICFR-related queries from external auditors by coordinating management testing documentation and supporting IPO-level readiness standards as well as board reporting requirements.
  • Deliver comprehensive quarterly status reports on ICFR effectiveness to group finance leadership by summarising key deficiencies, emerging risks, trends, and overall control maturity ratings.
  • Maintain an up-to-date control deficiency log with severity grading while ensuring timely follow-up on remediation actions in collaboration with local finance leadership teams.
  • Develop annual ICFR testing plans aligned to materiality thresholds and risk profiles for each entity under your remit.
  • Safeguard independence by refraining from operating controls directly or preparing statutory accounts while maintaining clear escalation paths for unresolved or high-risk deficiencies.

What you bring:
