This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee the overall Enterprise Risk Management framework, develop strategic action plans, and ensure adherence to all applicable banking laws.

What you'll do:

As an AVP of Business Risk and Compliance, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the risk management strategy of our client's operations. Your key responsibilities will include overseeing the Enterprise Risk Management framework, managing the RCSA process, reviewing and reporting on CIM and LED, performing root cause analysis, developing strategic action plans, enhancing policies, evaluating SOPs, and supporting operations in adhering to all applicable banking laws. Your leadership skills will be crucial in guiding your team towards operational excellence.

  • Develop and enhance policies while evaluating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure effective operational risk management.

  • Manage the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process in close coordination with the Operations Management team.

  • Oversee the Control Issue Management (CIM) and Loss Event Database (LED) review and reporting process to ensure timely identification and escalation of issues.

  • Perform root cause analysis of operational risk incidents and implement strategic action plans to mitigate recurrence.

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the overall Enterprise Risk Management framework for the Operations team.

  • Support Operations teams in ensuring full compliance with applicable banking laws, rules, regulations, and internal policies, procedures, and processes.

The ideal candidate for this AVP of Business Risk and Compliance position brings a wealth of knowledge in risk management, compliance governance, payment operations, KYC processes, corporate services, regulatory laws, finance, accounting, decision-making capabilities, coaching skills, as well as a deep understanding of banking products and services. Your strong interpersonal skills will enable you to effectively communicate with various stakeholders while your high sense of initiative will drive you to excel in this role.

  • Coaching and mentoring skills with the ability to guide cross-functional teams.

  • Decision-making capabilities with sound judgment in risk-related scenarios.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders across all levels.

  • Familiarity with regulatory laws and regulations, including those from BSP and DOLE.

  • High sense of initiative, professionalism, and strong work ethic.

  • Knowledge in Risk and Compliance Governance with a focus on Bank Operations.

  • Strong financial and accounting background to support operational risk evaluations.

  • Understanding of bank products and services, payment and settlements operations, KYC processes, and corporate services.
