A leading international bank and help safeguard the organisation against fraud, financial crime, and regulatory risks. This role focuses on compliance monitoring, fraud investigations, risk assessments, and advisory support to ensure adherence to AML, anti-fraud, and anti-corruption regulations. You will work closely with stakeholders to strengthen controls, address compliance issues, support audits, and promote an ethical culture across the business.

A leading financial institution in Manila is seeking a dedicated Fraud Prevention Officer to join their Anti Money Laundering Unit. This role offers you the opportunity to play a pivotal part in safeguarding the organisation’s integrity by ensuring strict adherence to banking regulations, internal policies, and ethical standards. You will be instrumental in providing compliance advisory services, conducting oversight and monitoring activities, performing risk assessments, investigating potential breaches and fraud cases, and supporting regulatory and audit engagements. The position promises a collaborative environment where your expertise will contribute directly to the enhancement of compliance governance frameworks and the promotion of an ethical culture across all business units. If you are passionate about protecting financial systems from fraud and misconduct, this is your chance to make a meaningful impact while enjoying flexible working opportunities, generous training programmes, and supportive leadership.

  • You will be at the forefront of compliance oversight, ensuring that anti-fraud and anti-corruption programmes are implemented effectively across all business units.
  • Your role will involve comprehensive risk assessment, incident investigation, and advisory support for both operational teams and senior management.
  • Enjoy access to ongoing training opportunities, a supportive network of professionals, and a workplace committed to promoting ethical standards and continuous improvement.

What you'll do:

As a Fraud Prevention Officer (AML) based in Manila, you will immerse yourself in a multifaceted role that blends oversight with hands-on investigative work. Your daily responsibilities will revolve around ensuring that all business units operate within the boundaries of applicable regulations while upholding the highest ethical standards. You will conduct rigorous monitoring activities to detect any signs of fraud or non-compliance. By performing detailed risk assessments and reviewing control frameworks regularly, you will help identify vulnerabilities before they become issues. Your advisory skills will be called upon frequently as you guide operational teams through complex regulatory landscapes during new product launches or process changes. When incidents arise—whether internal or external—you will lead investigations with empathy and thoroughness to uncover root causes and implement effective remediation plans. Additionally, you’ll champion anti-bribery & corruption efforts by monitoring policy adherence among staff members as well as third-party partners. Reporting duties will keep you connected with senior management while your involvement in training sessions ensures that everyone remains aware of evolving regulatory requirements. Success in this role means being proactive in identifying risks, responsive in addressing breaches or gaps, collaborative when supporting stakeholders—and always committed to fostering an ethical culture throughout the organisation.

  • Oversee the implementation of anti-financial account scamming and anti-bribery & corruption compliance programmes throughout various business units, ensuring alignment with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Conduct periodic compliance monitoring and testing activities to review adherence to anti-fraud requirements across products, channels, and operations.
  • Identify compliance gaps, control weaknesses, policy deviations, and escalate significant findings to Compliance Management and Senior Management for prompt resolution.
  • Perform thorough compliance risk assessments and thematic reviews to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of controls implemented within the organisation.
  • Monitor key compliance risk indicators (KRIs) and trends while recommending corrective actions and mitigation measures as necessary.
  • Provide advisory support to business and operational units by interpreting regulatory requirements and communicating clear implementation expectations.
  • Support business initiatives, product launches, and process changes from a compliance perspective to ensure regulatory obligations are met.
  • Review, investigate, and assess compliance incidents, breaches, escalation cases; coordinate investigations relating to anti-fraud concerns; ensure root cause analysis and remediation plans are completed.
  • Monitor compliance with anti-bribery, anti-corruption, conflict of interest, gifts & entertainment policies; support due diligence reviews for third parties, vendors, high-risk relationships; promote ethical culture across the organisation.
  • Prepare relevant periodic compliance reports, dashboards, management updates; support regulatory submissions, examinations, inquiries; coordinate responses to internal/external audit observations.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Fraud Prevention Officer (AML) role brings a wealth of experience from the banking sector or related fields such as finance or risk management. Your academic background equips you with foundational knowledge while any advanced qualifications—such as a law degree or Certified Fraud Examiner status—will further distinguish your application. You have spent several years honing your skills in compliance oversight: whether through direct involvement in operational risk audits or by investigating fraud cases within regulated environments. Your familiarity with AFASA regulations as well as anti-money laundering protocols means you can quickly adapt to evolving industry standards. Beyond technical expertise lies your ability to connect with colleagues across departments—offering guidance on complex regulatory matters while maintaining sensitivity towards their unique challenges. Your written communication skills ensure that reporting tasks are handled efficiently without sacrificing clarity or accuracy. When faced with incidents requiring investigation or breach management interventions—you approach each case methodically yet empathetically—always striving for resolutions that reinforce organisational integrity. Finally your passion for promoting ethical behaviour shines through every training session delivered or policy update supported—making you an invaluable asset not only within the AML unit but throughout the wider organisation.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Risk Management, Business Administration or related field is required; a Law degree is considered an advantage for this position.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification is preferred but not mandatory for applicants seeking this role.
  • At least 4–7 years of proven experience in banking compliance, operational risk management, audit processes, fraud investigation or regulatory compliance is essential.
