This role offers you the chance to play a pivotal part in shaping and safeguarding the operational resilience of a highly awarded financial institution that is transforming the banking experience for millions. As an Operational Risk Officer, you will be at the forefront of ensuring robust risk frameworks, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing expert guidance on non-financial risks. The organisation is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where your expertise will directly contribute to the ongoing success and stability of its innovative digital banking platform. With a focus on flexibility, professional growth, and meaningful impact, this position is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative setting and is passionate about making a difference in the financial sector.

* Join a forward-thinking digital bank recognised for its commitment to innovation and customer-centric solutions, offering you the chance to work with cutting-edge technology and industry-leading practices.
* Be part of a collaborative team environment where your insights into operational risk will shape key decisions, influence policy development, and support the bank’s mission to deliver secure and reliable services.
* Enjoy flexible working opportunities and access to continuous training programmes designed to enhance your skills, foster career progression, and ensure you remain at the forefront of risk management best practices.

What you'll do:

As an Operational Risk Officer based in Taguig City, you will play an integral role in fortifying the bank’s operational resilience by providing expert guidance on non-financial risks. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close collaboration with senior leaders as you offer timely advice on emerging risks while reviewing critical documentation such as contracts or vendor agreements. You will prepare detailed memoranda for executive decision-making bodies while ensuring that all reporting obligations are met efficiently. By evaluating new partners or service providers against stringent criteria—and mentoring junior colleagues—you will help cultivate a culture of shared responsibility for risk management. Your ability to embed robust controls into every facet of operations will be essential as you update frameworks governing risk appetite or vendor relationships. In addition to overseeing fraud control measures and supporting information security initiatives, you will regularly assess the effectiveness of existing tools used for monitoring operational risks. Success in this role requires not only technical acumen but also strong interpersonal skills that enable you to build trust across departments while championing best practices in operational risk management.

* Provide timely advice and recommendations on all operational risk matters to senior leadership, ensuring that potential issues are identified early and addressed effectively.
* Review and sign off on all non-financial risk agendas submitted for approval, maintaining rigorous standards across all areas of operational risk.
* Prepare comprehensive risk memoranda related to non-financial risks for submission to executive management committees, ensuring clarity and accuracy in all communications.
* Manage the delivery of reporting requirements in line with both internal policies and regulatory expectations, particularly those set by group-level governance and local authorities.
* Conduct thorough reviews of contracts, new vendors, outsourced service providers (OSPs), products, and projects, delivering detailed risk assessments and actionable advice to stakeholders.
* Evaluate partners, vendors, and OSPs for accreditation or approval, collaborating closely with relevant committees to uphold high standards of due diligence.
* Mentor and provide proactive guidance to IT Risk Security Officers and Operational Risk Control Officers, nurturing a high-performing team culture built on knowledge sharing and mutual support.
* Embed non-financial risk management controls into policies, processes, products, activities, contracts, and other operational areas through visible engagement with stakeholders.
* Update and calibrate the bank’s operational risk appetite framework—including limits and tolerances—while coordinating approvals with group-level risk functions.
* Maintain up-to-date vendor and outsourcing policies by establishing clear guidelines for procurement processes and evaluation criteria.
* Lead vendor and OSP accreditation efforts in partnership with procurement and compliance teams to ensure transparency throughout information flows.
* Oversee fraud control activities as well as associated reporting requirements to maintain integrity across all operations.
* Drive implementation of control activities relating to information technology risk, information security, data privacy, and business continuity risks.
* Continuously review operational risk models such as RCSA (Risk Control Self-Assessment), LED (Loss Event Data), Risk Register, BIA (Business Impact Analysis), and KRIs (Key Risk Indicators) to ensure their ongoing relevance.

What you bring:

To excel as an Operational Risk Officer in this dynamic digital banking environment, you will bring substantial experience managing complex operational risks within regulated financial institutions. Your background should include hands-on involvement with regulatory compliance matters—especially those relevant locally—as well as exposure to contract negotiation or third-party due diligence. You will have honed your analytical thinking through regular assessments of new products or partnerships while developing strong communication skills needed for drafting reports aimed at senior executives. Your approach should emphasise teamwork; by mentoring others you help create an atmosphere where everyone feels supported in achieving shared goals. Familiarity with IT-related risks further enhances your ability to oversee information security initiatives while your understanding of business continuity ensures preparedness during unexpected events. Adaptability is key: whether updating frameworks or responding quickly during audits—you thrive when working together towards common objectives.

* Demonstrated experience in operational risk management within financial services or banking environments is essential for this role as it ensures familiarity with industry-specific challenges.
* Proven ability to interpret regulatory requirements—particularly those from local authorities such as BSP MORB—and translate them into practical policies or procedures is highly valued.
* Strong analytical skills are required for conducting thorough contract reviews, vendor evaluations, product assessments, and project analyses from a risk perspective.
* Excellent written communication abilities are necessary for preparing clear memoranda intended for executive audiences or regulatory submissions.
* Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members fosters a collaborative atmosphere where knowledge sharing is prioritised over individual achievement.
* A track record of successfully embedding non-financial risk controls into organisational processes demonstrates your capacity for influencing positive change across multiple functions.
* Familiarity with information technology risks—including cybersecurity threats—alongside data privacy regulations supports effective oversight of these critical domains.
* Knowledge of business continuity planning enables you to contribute meaningfully during crisis scenarios or when updating contingency frameworks.
* Comfort working collaboratively with procurement or compliance teams ensures seamless coordination during vendor accreditation processes or policy updates.
* Adaptability when reviewing evolving operational risk models such as RCSA or BIA allows you to keep pace with changing industry standards.
