HEAD OF PARTNER ONBOARDING & KYB

A leading organisation in the fintech sector is seeking a Head of Partner Onboarding & KYB to oversee and continuously evolve the end-to-end Know Your Business (KYB) lifecycle for B2B and B2B2C partners. This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to shape strategic partner onboarding, drive operational transformation, and ensure robust regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions. You will be at the forefront of executive oversight, cross-functional collaboration, and process innovation, championing a seamless partner experience from pre-sales engagement through ongoing account management.

The company values flexibility, inclusivity, and supportive leadership, providing an environment where your expertise in compliance operations and risk management will be nurtured and celebrated. If you are passionate about building high-performing teams, influencing senior stakeholders, and delivering scalable solutions that enhance partner satisfaction without compromising on quality or compliance, this is your chance to make a significant impact.

  • You will lead the transformation of partner onboarding and support workflows for B2B and B2B2C clients, ensuring regulatory compliance while optimising efficiency and satisfaction.
  • You will act as the executive point of contact for complex partner engagements, driving cross-functional alignment with business development, product, engineering, legal, risk, and compliance teams.
  • You will build and scale high-performing teams across onboarding and partner support functions, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

What you'll do:

As Head of Partner Onboarding & KYB, you will play a central role in shaping how B2B and B2B2C partners are onboarded and supported throughout their journey. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve overseeing comprehensive KYB processes that ensure regulatory compliance while fostering trust with partners. You will provide executive oversight during every stage of the partner lifecycle—from initial engagement through ongoing relationship management—ensuring that risk assessment frameworks are consistently applied.

By establishing escalation protocols for high-risk cases in close partnership with Compliance and Risk teams, you will safeguard organisational interests while maintaining a collaborative approach. Staying ahead of global regulatory trends is crucial; you will translate these into actionable policies that drive operational excellence. Acting as the main point of contact for complex partner engagements means resolving issues swiftly with empathy and quality.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline onboarding processes—removing friction points—and champion initiatives that enhance partner satisfaction. Leading transformation projects will allow you to identify inefficiencies within workflows; your implementation of automation solutions will set new standards for scalability. Building feedback mechanisms ensures continuous improvement in both onboarding strategies and ongoing support functions.

  • Oversee the entire KYB lifecycle for B2B and B2B2C partners by developing robust documentation processes, verification protocols, and ensuring full regulatory compliance across all relevant jurisdictions.
  • Provide executive oversight throughout the partner lifecycle from initial onboarding to ongoing monitoring and relationship management, implementing strong risk-based screening frameworks and governance practices.
  • Establish escalation frameworks for high-risk or suspicious cases by collaborating closely with Compliance, Risk, and senior leadership to drive timely decisions that protect both partners and the organisation.
  • Monitor global regulatory developments in AML, CDD, EDD, sanctions screening, and KYB; translate these requirements into scalable operational policies applicable to both pre-sales and after-sales operations.
  • Serve as the senior accountable leader for audit readiness, regulatory reviews, and internal control effectiveness related to partner onboarding and ongoing management.
  • Act as the executive point of contact for complex or high-impact partner engagements including pre-sales inquiries and after-sales operational issues; resolve matters with speed, quality, and a strong partner-first approach.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment with Business Development, Product, Engineering, Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to remove onboarding friction and accelerate partner activation.
  • Champion a seamless end-to-end partner experience across the full lifecycle for both B2B and B2B2C partners by influencing senior stakeholders to prioritise initiatives that improve satisfaction while maintaining strong risk controls.
  • Lead large-scale transformation initiatives to optimise onboarding workflows by identifying systemic inefficiencies, automation opportunities, and scalability gaps; implement data-driven improvements using technology solutions.
  • Build feedback loops from partners and internal teams to inform long-term strategy for both onboarding and ongoing support; sponsor automation enhancements where appropriate.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for Head of Partner Onboarding & KYB brings substantial proven experience in KYB operations within fintech or similar sectors. Your academic background includes a bachelor’s degree—preferably complemented by advanced qualifications or certifications such as CAMS or CRCM—which underpin your deep understanding of compliance requirements. You have spent over eight years progressing through roles focused on partner onboarding or risk operations; five years have been dedicated to leading multi-layered teams where your nurturing approach has fostered growth among managers.

Your expertise spans AML regulations, customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, and sanctions screening—all applied across diverse jurisdictions—making you adept at navigating complex regulatory landscapes. You have successfully led process transformation projects introducing automation solutions that elevate operational standards without sacrificing quality or compliance.

Your ability to influence senior stakeholders stems from excellent interpersonal skills; you communicate clearly, manage escalations effectively, and always keep partners’ needs at heart. Analytical thinking guides your use of KPIs, dashboards, and reporting tools, ensuring decisions are informed by reliable data. Experience supporting audits and examinations further strengthens your profile, while your capacity to adapt quickly in evolving environments demonstrates resilience and commitment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Compliance, Legal, Operations or related field is required; Master’s degree or professional certification such as CAMS, CFE or CRCM is strongly preferred.
  • 8–12+ years of progressive experience in KYB operations including partner onboarding or compliance within fintech, banking or crypto environments is essential.
  • 5+ years of senior leadership experience managing managers within multi-layered operational teams is highly desirable.
  • Deep expertise in AML, CDD, EDD, sanctions screening and KYB regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions is required.
  • Proven track record of driving large-scale process transformation initiatives including automation projects aimed at improving operational excellence.
  • Strong executive presence demonstrated by influencing cross-functional senior stakeholders as well as external partners through effective communication skills.
  • Highly analytical mindset with extensive experience building KPI frameworks, dashboards, and executive reporting tools that inform decision-making at all levels.
  • Experience supporting regulatory audits, examinations, and compliance reviews adds significant value to your candidacy.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and escalation handling skills combined with a strong partner-centric mindset are vital for success in this role.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth, and ambiguous environments while maintaining composure and professionalism under pressure.
