This is an exceptional opportunity for you to make a significant impact by developing, implementing, and continuously enhancing a robust Risk Management Framework that safeguards the bank’s interests while supporting its growth objectives. You will be at the heart of promoting a culture of risk awareness, ensuring that all levels of the organisation are aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements. The position offers flexible working opportunities and access to ongoing training, making it ideal for someone who values professional development and wants to contribute meaningfully within a supportive team environment.

* Take ownership of designing and refining comprehensive risk management policies, procedures, and monitoring systems that underpin the bank’s stability and success.
* Champion a culture of risk awareness across all departments, ensuring that colleagues understand their roles in managing and mitigating risks effectively.
* Benefit from flexible working arrangements and continuous learning opportunities, allowing you to grow your expertise while contributing to a collaborative and knowledgeable team.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Credit Risk Officer, you will be entrusted with overseeing the full spectrum of credit risk management activities within the bank. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve crafting policies that address both current challenges and future uncertainties in the financial landscape. You will work collaboratively with teams across the organisation to embed risk-conscious thinking into every aspect of operations. By leveraging your expertise in operational and liquidity risk, you will help shape strategies that protect assets while enabling sustainable growth. Regular engagement with senior leadership will allow you to communicate insights clearly and influence key decisions. Your proactive approach to updating frameworks ensures that the bank remains resilient in an ever-evolving environment.

* Develop, implement, and maintain an effective Risk Management Framework tailored to the needs of the banking sector, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and organisational goals.
* Design detailed policies and procedures that address credit, operational, and liquidity risks, providing clear guidance for all relevant stakeholders.
* Promote risk awareness throughout the organisation by delivering training sessions, workshops, and regular communications on emerging risks and mitigation strategies.
* Identify key risks facing the bank by conducting thorough analyses of internal processes, market trends, and external factors that could impact operations.
* Measure and monitor identified risks using advanced analytical tools and methodologies to ensure timely detection of potential issues.
* Report regularly on the state of risk exposure to senior management and other stakeholders through comprehensive presentations and written reports.
* Collaborate closely with business units to ensure that risk considerations are integrated into strategic decision-making processes.
* Test the effectiveness of existing risk controls through scenario analysis, stress testing, and periodic reviews to identify areas for improvement.
* Update the Risk Management Framework as needed in response to changes in regulations, market conditions, or organisational priorities.
* Foster strong relationships with regulators, auditors, and other external parties to ensure transparency and compliance with industry standards.

What you bring:

To excel as a Senior Credit Risk Officer, you will bring extensive experience from within the banking sector—particularly in roles where you have overseen operational or liquidity risks. Your academic background will support your ability to analyse complex data sets while your hands-on experience ensures practical application of theoretical knowledge. You are adept at building consensus among diverse groups by communicating clearly about risks and their implications. Your attention to detail allows you to design frameworks that are both rigorous and adaptable. A passion for nurturing talent means you enjoy sharing knowledge with others through training initiatives or informal mentoring. Above all, your dedication to upholding ethical standards ensures that every recommendation you make aligns with both regulatory expectations and organisational values.

* A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics or any related field is highly preferred as it provides a solid foundation for understanding complex financial concepts.
* At least eight years’ experience in the banking industry in a similar leadership role demonstrates your ability to navigate regulatory environments and manage high-stakes responsibilities.
* Proven expertise in operational risk management enables you to identify vulnerabilities within processes and recommend practical solutions.
* In-depth knowledge of liquidity risk ensures you can assess funding adequacy under various scenarios and advise on appropriate contingency plans.
* Strong interpersonal skills allow you to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels while fostering a culture of shared responsibility for risk management.
* Excellent communication abilities enable you to present complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Analytical acumen supports your capacity to interpret data accurately and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
* Experience developing policies and procedures equips you to create documentation that is both comprehensive and accessible for end users.
* A commitment to continuous learning keeps you abreast of evolving regulations, industry trends, and best practices in risk management.
