Save job

Join a well-established banking organization as a Risk Officer - Model Risk Management and play a key role in strengthening model governance, risk oversight, and regulatory compliance. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work closely with risk, finance, and business stakeholders, support enterprise-wide model risk management initiatives, and provide insights that help senior leadership make informed decisions while ensuring robust governance and risk management practices.

What you'll do:

As a Risk Officer Model Risk Management based in Manila, you will be responsible for supporting the organisation’s enterprise-level MRM function through meticulous documentation and monitoring of model risks. Your day-to-day activities will involve applying criteria for materiality and tiering classifications while performing regular consistency checks to ensure all relevant models are accurately inventoried. You will consolidate complex model information into actionable insights for senior management reporting and identify risk concentrations across various financial processes. By tracking remediation statuses and escalating high-risk issues when necessary, you will play a crucial role in maintaining robust governance standards. Preparing dashboards and working papers for key stakeholders will be central to your responsibilities as you collaborate with colleagues across departments. Success in this role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical capabilities, and an ability to translate technical findings into governance-ready insights that support effective risk oversight.

  • Maintain a comprehensive model inventory with clear documentation of purpose, ownership, lifecycle stage, and risk classification for all models used across the organisation.
  • Apply and update criteria for materiality, tiering, and risk classification in accordance with the Model Risk Management Framework to ensure accurate risk categorisation.
  • Perform consistency checks regularly to guarantee that all models meeting governance definitions are properly captured and monitored within the risk management system.
  • Consolidate model information including validation status, findings, and limitations into enterprise-level risk views for enhanced visibility and decision-making.
  • Identify risk concentrations and dependencies across ICAAP, ECL/IFRS 9, stress testing, pricing, and strategic processes to support holistic risk oversight.
  • Track remediation status of validation findings diligently, escalate high-risk issues promptly, and provide support for management visibility on critical matters.
  • Prepare dashboards and working papers for Senior Management and the Risk Management Committee to facilitate informed discussions on model risks.
  • Support independent model validation activities by ensuring outputs are defensible, audit-ready, and aligned with regulatory standards as part of the second line of defence.
  • Collaborate closely with other teams within the risk management department to integrate model risks into ERM, Risk Appetite statements, ICAAP reporting, and senior management presentations.
  • Assist in developing governance processes that enhance control effectiveness within a second-line control environment while maintaining alignment with organisational objectives.
