Job Summary
The Deputy General Manager (Human Resources) will be at the forefront developing and implementing HR initiatives that align with business objectives, ensuring the highest standards of compliance, employee engagement, and talent management across diverse teams.
What you'll do:
As a Deputy General Manager (Human Resources), you will play a central role in designing and executing HR strategies that drive organisational performance and foster an inclusive culture across multiple regions. You will lead end-to-end HR functions across assigned regions, partnering with senior leaders to drive strategic workforce planning and talent acquisition. You'll manage recruitment, vendor coordination, and identify manpower needs. Collaborating with L&D, you'll support regional training initiatives and champion employee engagement through coaching and motivational programs. You'll ensure policy compliance with local laws and global standards, and oversee fair, consistent compensation frameworks in a multicultural environment.
- Support the Regional Head of Human Resources in designing, planning, developing, and implementing key HR initiatives that align with both local and global business strategies.
- Collaborate closely with Business Managers and Function Heads to embed HR best practices into daily operations, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Develop, oversee, and continuously improve processes related to talent acquisition, talent management, compensation and benefits, learning and development, HRIS systems, surveys, and new HR initiatives.
- Ensure all HR policies and processes are compliant with local legislation while maintaining consistency with global standards.
- Drive understanding of reward philosophy among employees by designing job sizing frameworks, grade structures, and compensation scales across various levels.
- Lead the implementation of region-specific HR interventions that support business performance while upholding global policies.
- Manage recruitment solutions to enhance hiring capabilities at all levels; oversee vendor relationships within the talent acquisition space.
- Work alongside Learning & Development teams to identify training needs, plan learning programmes, and co-own implementation of development activities across assigned regions.
- Design and execute employee engagement programmes aimed at motivating staff; proactively address concerns through coaching sessions and feedback mechanisms.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable policies, procedures, regulations, statutory requirements, employment laws, audit standards, environmental health guidelines, and quality certification processes.
What you bring:
To excel as a Deputy General Manager (Human Resources), you bring extensive senior-level HR experience across diverse industries or regions. You have deep expertise in talent management, recruitment, policy development, compensation, L&D, compliance, and employee engagement. Skilled in navigating complex organizations, you influence decisions through empathy, clear communication, and cultural sensitivity. You lead with integrity, mentor teams, and foster inclusive environments that support both professional and personal growth. Your analytical mindset drives data-informed strategies that enhance organizational performance.
- Postgraduate or MBA degree in Human Resources or equivalent international qualification is required for this position.
- At least seven (7) years’ experience in human resources management within large or multicultural organisations is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups including corporate stakeholders at regional or local levels is highly valued.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing HR strategies covering talent acquisition, employee life cycle management, engagement initiatives, compensation frameworks, learning programmes, compliance protocols, and audit processes.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills enabling you to collaborate seamlessly across departments while building trust-based relationships at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong communication abilities allowing you to interpret complex data insights for internal stakeholders as well as facilitate employee consultations effectively.
- Experience managing direct reports including performance assessment coaching succession planning training delivery delegation of authority motivation guidance retention planning career progression support is important.
- A high level of integrity stability professionalism sensitivity towards diversity equity inclusion are expected attributes for this leadership role.
- Familiarity with employment law statutory requirements quality certification processes environmental health safety guidelines is necessary for ensuring compliance across regions.
