What you'll do:

As a Civil Structural Architectural Engineer based in the National Capital Region, you will play an integral part in shaping the success of major engineering projects.

• Serve as lead engineer on assigned projects, providing guidance and direction throughout all phases of design and execution.
• Apply advanced knowledge of civil, structural, and architectural engineering principles to develop innovative solutions for concrete and steel structures as well as site preparation and drainage systems.
• Make authoritative decisions on complex engineering problems using both established methods and creative approaches tailored to project needs.
• Act as an internal consultant by offering expert advice to engineers and technical staff while fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
• Undertake complex assignments requiring the development or refinement of new techniques, procedures, or methodologies to address unique project challenges.
• Represent the organisation in external discussions and technical forums when required, upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
• Ensure thorough familiarity with relevant codes, client specifications, project requirements, vendor data, general arrangements, and industry standards.
• Coordinate closely with counterparts in other departments to ensure seamless integration of multidisciplinary efforts while keeping project leads informed of progress.
• Supervise engineers and designers by organising workloads efficiently to meet project milestones and compliance requirements.
• Prepare material requisitions, provide technical input for subcontract packages, review vendor drawings, check calculations, update schedules, forecast man-hours, and maintain comprehensive documentation for department files.

What you bring:

To excel as a Senior Civil Structural Architectural Engineer in this organisation’s CSA team, you will bring extensive hands-on experience managing large-scale engineering projects within multidisciplinary environments.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required; a Master’s degree is preferred for candidates seeking further advancement.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification is highly desirable as it demonstrates recognised authority within the field.
• At least ten years’ experience in civil structural architectural engineering roles with proven responsibility for leading complex projects from inception through completion.
• Proficiency in Staad PRO and Staad FOUNDATION software is essential; familiarity with Civil 3D will be considered an asset.
• Extensive working knowledge of IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE, API standards ensures compliance with industry regulations at every stage of project delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise teams effectively—organising workloads, reviewing outputs such as calculations or drawings—and providing constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
• Experience coordinating with subcontractors on scope execution while maintaining oversight of quality assurance processes.
• Strong HSE mindset reflecting personal responsibility for health, safety, and environmental considerations throughout all activities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills enabling open dialogue with colleagues at all levels as well as effective representation in external forums when necessary.
