What you'll do:

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play an integral part in shaping the direction of high-impact engineering projects from inception through completion.

• Make authoritative decisions and recommendations that have far-reaching impacts on extensive engineering activities within the organisation.
• Serve as a recognised leader in either a broad area of specialisation or an intensely focused field, providing guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
• Negotiate complex and sensitive issues with senior engineers and executives from partner organisations, ensuring positive outcomes for all parties involved.
• Continuously enhance technical knowledge by staying up-to-date with industry standards and best practices, contributing to the overall capability of the department.
• Plan and oversee the work of engineers on programmes deemed critically important to the organisation’s success.
• Collaborate closely with business development teams to prepare compelling client proposals that showcase technical excellence.
• Function as Lead Engineer on small- to medium-sized projects, ensuring all deliverables meet project requirements and quality standards.
• Organise workflows efficiently to comply with project timelines while coordinating effectively with other departments for seamless execution.
• Prepare and update Department Design Basis documents for various projects, maintaining accuracy and compliance at all times.
• Review vendor quotations, conduct technical bid evaluations, and provide well-informed recommendations based on technical merit.

What you bring:

To excel as a Senior Electrical Engineer in this role, you will bring substantial hands-on experience gained over several years working on complex power distribution systems.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required; holding a Professional Engineer licence is preferred but not mandatory.
• A minimum of 7 to 10 years’ experience in electrical engineering roles involving power distribution/protection system design at voltages such as 13.8kV, 4.16kV, 480V SWGR/MCC.
• Comprehensive understanding of NEC, API, IEEE, NFPA standards; familiarity with IEC standards and PIP Practices is advantageous but not essential.
• Demonstrated ability to independently produce electrical design deliverables including one-line diagrams, cable schedules, motor schematics, lighting layouts, cable tray layouts, grounding layouts, installation details, material take-offs (MTO), etc.
• Proficiency in ETAP software is required; experience with AutoCAD is preferred but not compulsory.
• Experience guiding or mentoring junior engineers or designers within project teams is highly desirable.
• Knowledge or exposure to renewable energy systems such as solar, wind or battery storage—as well as electrolyzers—is considered an added advantage but not required.
• Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with internal teams and external partners alike.
• Strong organisational abilities for managing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail across all aspects of project delivery.
