What you'll do:

As a Customs Trade Compliance Manager, you will be entrusted with overseeing the end-to-end management of customs compliance activities within the organisation.

• Oversee the management of departmental budgets and costs, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently in line with annual plans.
• Develop, review, and enhance customs compliance policies as well as standard operating procedures to align with evolving industry standards and relevant local or international regulations.
• Obtain all necessary import permits and export licenses for each process, maintaining meticulous records to ensure full regulatory compliance at every stage.
• Ensure prompt daily clearance of incoming shipments so that stock is always available for the sales team, minimising delays and supporting business objectives.
• Resolve any document-related issues associated with import shipments by liaising with internal teams and external authorities to maintain smooth operations.
• Manage urgent shipments, special promotions, importations, and exportations by coordinating across departments to guarantee timely delivery and clearance.
• Monitor changes in customs laws, trade agreements, port policies, and other relevant developments; update internal policies accordingly to maintain compliance.
• Collaborate closely with various departments such as supply chain, logistics, sales, and finance to ensure all import/export activities adhere to company policies.
• Act as the subject matter expert on all matters related to import/export operations, providing guidance and advice to colleagues on regulatory requirements.

What you bring:

To excel as a Customs Trade Compliance Manager, you will bring substantial experience navigating complex international trade environments where attention to detail is paramount.

• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of all applicable export and import laws as well as regulations governing international trade.
• Showcase a basic understanding of supply chain management principles including distribution, transport, and logistics processes.
• Bring proven experience managing customs compliance within an international or multi-national business environment.
• Display proficiency in using SAP systems for tracking shipments or managing documentation related to imports/exports.
• Exhibit cultural sensitivity when interacting with colleagues or partners from diverse backgrounds during cross-border transactions.
• Utilise strong skills in office productivity tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for reporting or analysis purposes.
• Communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing to ensure clear correspondence with stakeholders at all levels.
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or another relevant field.
